Why Cider Vinegar and NOT balsamic?

  • Okay, so I hate hate hate every vinegar on salad except for Balsamic..Its the only one i can actually tolerate..so i was just wondering..how come we cant have it?? I mean Cider vinegar is made from fruit? so why not balsamic allowed?

    I miss balsamic too. One of most favorite snacks is warm fresh baguette slices dipped in a good balsamic and olive oil. I know I'll have it again someday but in moderation.
  • This was one of the first things my coach warned me about. She said balsamic vinegar has sugar in it. That is likely why so many people like it best. I love raspberry or blueberry balsamic but have learned to get used to some of the WF dressings.
  • yes, there is a reason chefs make a balsamic reduction and serve it with strawberries... higher calories and carbs than other vinegars.
