Happy Hump Day!

Sounds like everyone is having a pretty good week. I went to a HS game last night and was able to avoid the popcorn at the concessions, but my it did smell good. The players even threw candy out to the crowd (I love candy!) and the skittles came to me. I promptly tucked them into my purse and they are going in my son's lunch today! Everyone doing o.k. with all the Halloween candy? I had to stop by a store on way home from game and was looking at Halloween treats for my nieces/nephews. Wow-that was hard but I just ignored it the best I could. They are too little to eat candy anyway, so have to buy non-food treats, unfortunately all in the same area! We have a lot of trick or treaters, but I am not buying my candy until the day or so before and not opening it until Halloween night. I will be fine! I can do this! My diet mantra is "This is not the last time in my life that I will have____________" (fill in the blank) halloween candy, pie, mashed potatoes, whatever. this is a phase and we can do it!

Since I started this diet on sept. 26th, I set for myself a goal of being down 20# by Halloween. This also keeps me focused. Not positive it will happen but I am close with 2 weeks to go.

Need to figure out tonight's dinner. I usually do my menus a week ahead, but getting low on entree groceries around here and won't shop until after payday on Friday! Usually these are the nights I would make a pasta meal, but that's not going to happen (at least for me!). What is everyone having? What phase are you on? Will give some ideas for now and later!

Pxlkitty4 10-19-2011 07:29 AM

Hello everyone. I haven't been on the daily chat in a while. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I'm still doing well in maintenance. I had my first cheat/free day on Sunday, and the scale went up two pounds, but now it's headed back in the right direction.

wuv2bloved - just wanted to say a big shout out "thank you" for always starting the daily chat. You are a rock star! You are doing really well, and I am watching your progress and seeing how you answer questions and motivate others every single day. You have everything to be proud of.

It's a rainy Wednesday here in Northern VA. I am working from home today, then off to NYC tomorrow. It's my first business trip since being on maintenance. I will probably end up doing Phase 3 while I am away, simply because I can't see finding carbs without fat at a restaurant and I'd like to eat something without asking ten million questions.

On a nice note, I did get takeout last night from a place called Chicken Out. They have menu items listed with a little symbol "ff" for fat free. I was able to eat mashed sweet potatoes with my chicken and veggies, and enjoyed a whole wheat dinner roll. They were delightful, albeit a little too sweet. On a funnier note, I had to laugh out loud when someone had labeled their "gluten free" salads with a fabulous typo. The cobb salad said "gluton free". The other people in line looked at me like I was strange. I kept the whole thing to myself.

Ideas...
Instead of pasta, make zucchini noodles for you. This will give you the basic idea. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/zucchin...-2/detail.aspx
Here is another page with recipes: http://idealweightacadiana.com/recipes

Also, if you are on facebook, you should "like" the following pages as they put recipes out all the time:
1) Ideal Protein - Lohja, Finland
2) Ideal Protein AZ

There is a lot of cross polination of ideas between these two, but I consider that a good thing.

Enjoy!

Good morning! I know I have been scarce on the boards lately- work and life are getting in the way of 3FC! ;)

WI this morning, down another 1.8, bringing my total to 32# even and bringing me 7.8# from goal.

Good luck to all those who weigh in today! Wish I could spend more time with you. The motivation and stories on here are so inspiring! But I am still plugging along and jumping on whenever I can. :)

Goodmorning everyone,
First time posting! I am on Day 5 today of IP. So far so good - some days are easier than others - but am so happy I am doing it!
I find all your stories very inspiring!

Good morning everyone! I forgot to take my mag/cal last night and then I don't sleep well, so I am up early again. I weighed on both of my scales and I don't think I will make it to the 150's at weigh in this morning. It's my own darn fault for eating 2 Pure Protein bars in one day for several days these last 2 weeks. I need to get over this diet fatigue and just get these last ten pounds off. Maybe a little self sabotage going on here?

I'll let you know how it turns out. I have school till one and then trainings /workshops until 7pm. Going to be a long day.

I have candy on my desk and also a big dish on my filing cabinet and the front desk is full of it now as you walk into work so it's everywhere. I can honestly say it doesn't tempt me. You can do it! Just keep that Halloween goal in mind at all times!

I wondered what happened to you. 1.8 is great when so close to goal. I can't wait to be only single digits away!

You may surprise yourself. I was back down to where I was Saturday this morning so if I stay put I will be able to "officially" say I hit the 150s. TOM came on full force this morning so who knows what my weigh in will show. Nothing I can do but hope for bigger numbers next week. Good luck to you! Try and have only 1 bar this week. But do keep in mind that it could've been worse. An extra bar here and there is not the end of the world. We can do this!

Pulled out a scarf this morning to wear to work because it's so stinkin cold here all of the sudden. I took a new pic to put in my avatar because my bare arms were making me cold. ;) Good luck to those who have weigh ins today!

Oh, Lynsey, you are so funny! I liked your bare arms on your avatar! LOL. Well, I am glad you are WARM now. We have been having some cold mornings too.

Maile 10-19-2011 08:24 AM

Good morning everyone..It is cold here also..dragging out sweaters.
I also have Halloween candy everywhere at work. I like the idea of buying the candy right before Halloween and then getting rid of it!
I am hanging on with Phase 2 for another week. Then hopefully will move to Phase 3.
Good luck on WIs today..Also..great losses posted today!

Itsaboutime..I like your new picture!

Sandy..Hang in there through the diet fatigue..you are close to your goal. The

sandyh50 10-19-2011 08:41 AM

Maile, thanks! How many weeks are you on Phase 2? Did you start it when you reached 90% of your goal? Somewhere I read that IP trainers are suggesting that you don't start phase 2 until you reach 100% of your goal. Am I imagining that or is it true? Anyone know?

I was told 90% but I'm really hoping to reach 100% before I move. If I didn't have a vacation planned I wouldn't move for sure until 100% but that's because I really want to lose another 5 pounds or so and am hoping to do it in phase 2. If I don't, I want to be at goal so I don't beat myself up about it. My chiropractor moved to 2 because she was stalling in 1 and her husband had already moved and stuff and I talked to her Monday night and she's lost 6 more pounds in the 2.5 weeks she's been in phase 2. I hope to be able to say the same!

DollFaceBella 10-19-2011 09:17 AM

Good luck today Sandy!! Come on 159!!! LOL

misswinter 10-19-2011 09:23 AM

Good morning everyone! It's super windy, rainy and cold here in Chicagoland. Trying to keep my spirits up because it sure is gloomy out there!

Had another NSV last night. I tried on a new dress I bought for my first shower on Sunday along with a pair of tall boots that have never zipped all the way over my calves. Everything fit and looks amazing! I can really tell the difference in my stomach and butt. Hopefully you all won't get sick of my wedding talk on here - it's all consuming right now but it's the big day I'm working towards!

boyz4us:

The Halloween candy hasn't bothered me too much yet. Jewel had a good sale on mini candy bars 2 weeks ago so I bought a bunch for the trick or treaters and threw them in the bottom of our pantry (which we hardly go in anymore) and covered them with the rolls of paper towels and bag of napkins! Out of site, out of mind!

Have a great OP day!

Hello everyone, :) I am just getting started on my IP weight loss journey. Infact, my first appointment isn't until Monday the 24th but I have been checking out the blogs and getting lots of great information before I even start. I have already been to the Walden Farms site to get some salad dressings ordered. Any tips that helped you all when you first got started? And is the Mio water flavor okay for phase 1?

sandyh50 10-19-2011 09:54 AM

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! But, the scale said 160 pounds!!! I'll take it, next week will be the 150's!! 3 more pounds gone! Total of 43 1/2 pounds!

I just restarted Monday after great results. Now I'm ready to finish what I started. I really like Netrition for ordering my Walden Farm stuff. I don't know what Mio water is so I can't speak to that. I'm a plain water drinker myself.

Yes MiO is safe for Phase 1. It follows the 0/0/0 rule and contains no aspertame.

Good morning everyone!! First weigh in yesterday and I lost 11.8lbs so I was thrilled!!! I know that it was alot of water weight but my body fat percentage went down so I got rid of some fat!! I used to think I didn't have any willpower but after starting this diet, I found that I had more than I ever thought possible!! Went out to dinner last week for our anniversary with my fiance and the roll and cinnamon butter smelled soooo good! But I just keep repeating "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!!!"

Have a great day everyone!!

thin4me 10-19-2011 10:20 AM

Well tonight is weigh in number 6 and I just don't feel like I've been loosing like I should even thought 100% OP :(

I'm worried about this weekend, I'm attending a 4 day conference where all meals are set, I did call ahead and the lunch is buffet so I should be able to pick from there and I will bring along some WF dressings to use.

Is there a problem with skipping the IP package at lunch and doing a protein if they have it along with salad and veggies? Plus do the same for supper?

Also up to this point I have been measuring my veggies and I obviously can't do that so I'll just have to guess.

On top of that it is a 6 hour drive so guess it'll be quite the test. I have good intentions at this point and hoping to stay that way .....

Is it considered "sexual harassment" if you walk past a male co-worker's office, exchange greetings, he calls you back to his office only to tell you he wanted nothing more than to "look" at you again? Don't get me wrong...I am totally charging on the compliment, but does anyone else think that's a little over the line?

It is a little over the line, up here if you don't like someone saying something like that you are suppose to say, that it is over the line and please do not talk like that again... then if it happens again then it is harassment...

Some people just have no clue. This guy has said some "off the wall" stuff and not just to me. Office situations are so touchy. I was recently "reprimanded" for a simple comment I made that was totally taken out of context. I will say something "next time"......right now, I'm thinking out loud.

Thanks ladies.....

Hello everyone,

Glad to hear everyone is having a good morning!! I had a NSV last night as I was going through my old jeans (pre-marriage) which I haven't been able to fit into for last 5 years and surprisingly they FIT (went from a size 10 to 6):carrot:.
I'm so excited to WI this friday since I finally hit my 127 lbs hurdle. In the past 5 years that i've been trying every fad diet you can think of, I have never been able to break my 127 plateau, always seem to get stuck there. This time on IP it only took me 3 days. My scale this morning read 126.1 and Im so excited to lose more before WI:D and finally start phase 2.

Went out to dinner last week for our anniversary with my fiance and the roll and cinnamon butter smelled soooo good! But I just keep repeating "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!!!"

Have a great day everyone!!

Congratulations! That is a huge first WI loss! It's a great motivator too - keep up the great work!

I was told by my coach that I can have my meat at lunch but then should have my packet at dinner. You can flip flop it but I don't think it is recommended to have meat for both lunch AND dinner. You need to get those 3 packets in a day on Phase 1.

Wowsa. I agree with the others that this is really blurring the line and you will have to make it clear that you are not comfortable with his comments and he needs to stop or get reported. Good luck and I hope he keeps his trap shut (but yeah the compliment was nice!). The workplace makes it so awkward!

Yes, MIO is acceptable on Phase one, Good luck on your journey and make sure to keep us posted!

You can switch your protein to lunch anytime you like but only on occasion and have you packet for dinner. I have done that several times. You have been on the program to be able to eyeball what 2 cups of veggies look like and 8oz of meat. If you have a little more its ok, it won't hurt you that bad. Its better to have too much of what you can have than to have something totally not OP and blow it completely. When I go to my mom's its a 3 hour drive, I make sure I have some cut up veggies I can snack on along with plenty of water to drink and some gum (sugarfree). YOU CAN DO IT!! put your mind right and anything is possible!
