Red Onion - was it allowed before these new protocol?

Hey all

It's a little late now, since it's already digesting :carrot: but was wondering - on the old protocol of IP - was red onion allowed in the restricted veggies?

Having been on the IP program a couple of times now (only because life got in the way and I had to get off the program) - I'm back to basics. I found that I lost weight faster and more steadily on the original IP protocol (no restricteds until 100% of weight loss reached, no tomatoes, no red peppers, no brussel sprouts, no green cabbage), than compared to the new protocol (which you have to have 1 restricted per day, you can have tomatoes, all coloured peppers, brussel sprouts, green cabbage).

However, I don't have red onion listed on my 'yes' sheet for the previous protocol...and I do love it in my salad with the Soy Patties crumbled all over and drizzled in my homemade dressing...

Thanks for the feedback...

I am not quite sure about the old and new protocol differences.

All I know is that you can have raw onions but not cooked.

I thought you could have cooked or raw onions as long as they are not carmelized?

OT but could you post your homemade dressing recipe? I'm looking for something for salad, WF isn't cutting it.

My sheet doesn't specify red or white onion so I would assume it's allowed, but mine does say raw only (although I know some people cook them a little).

The natural sugars in onions carmelize when they are cooked. I was told raw only.

I better stop cooking my white onion to death every morning. I was going to ask my coach and forgot. They are so yummy when you really carmalize them but geeze, I knew it would be too good to be true.
