I GOT THROUGHT THE WHOLE BACHLORETTE PARTY OP!!!!!!! Whew. I was one seriously cranky girl afterwards. I had a Diet Pepsi at super to help. My coach told me no diet pepsi, but I knew that it was much better than having a drink. I saw that some coaches have said it's okay, and others have said once in a while as a treat, so i felt safe.
Hope everyone else is having a wonderful OP weekend

What to do?

Hi everyone, i am on day 5 using alternative products. Things have been going well except the urge to munch throughout the day. Anyone have any suggestions of how i can combat this?
Also tomorrow (Monday) is my husbands and mine 12th anniversary and we want to do something special, perhaps go out to eat. Any one have some suggestions of places to go that are somewhat IP friendly? I live in the midwest, specifically Minnesota.
Thanks and you guys are great and very motivating!

Happy Sunday. I've been surviving the in-laws' visit and have stayed on program, despite the temptations of birthday cakes and unbelievably good smelling food (prepared by me).

I have a question. I give my son seaweed snacks from Trader Joe's. One serving (which is half the package) has 30 calories and 1 carb. I am having a hard time getting above 600 calories on some days and these are tasty and satisfy my urge to crunch.

Should I count them as a veggie?

Ryuu: there's plenty to eat when you go out. I check the menu of where I'd like to go in advance and make sure they have grilled protein of some sort and veggies. When I order I warn them that I am as high maintenance as it gets and then tell them how I'd like everything prepared. Most places are very accommodating.

Happy Anniversary!

These are the things that get me through a day when I have munchies :)

Celery dipped in WF Caramel
Coleslaw with WF Coleslaw dressing + 1/2 packet of Stevia = yummy
Bake a big batch of some Kale chips for munching.
Coffee, tea, flavored water
Pickles!
If all else fails a piece of gum is my last resort!
My last-last resort is a hard boiled egg dipped in Hellman's Dijonnaise.

Happy Anniversary! We are neighbors (SD) You can go almost anywhere that you can order steak or chicken or fish, the possibilities are endless really. Just view a menu ahead of time if you can that will help and call with questions.

FYI: Anyone who uses EAS Carb Control as an alternative. They've reformulated their French Vanilla (maybe others but that's the only one I buy) and it now has fewer calories, less fat, but more carbs. I fished the one I had for lunch out of the trash after I got home from the store when I noticed it said new and improved taste. I don't have the info on the IP shakes and drinks so I don't know how it compares but I just wanted to throw that out there. And if this was done awhile ago and my grocery store is behind the times I apologize.

Thanks for the snack ideas and the problem with eating out. What do you use to flavor your water? I have propel zero but i have read comments that i shouldnt drink it often, more than once a week?

Hmmm..weird...I'll have to check this out. I don't remember seeing that. I only use it as my 'creamer' for coffee in the morning. Although, I also use the Pure Protien RTD shake since it has a screw on top and I can seal up the amount I don't use.

Thanks for the heads up - I'll see if I can find any more information.

I drink most of my water plain - see if you can get used to that. If you can't try using a fresh lemon wedge.

I know other people on this board use MIO but I don't know much about it.

I like MiO for flavoring my water. I only use it at about half strength though and only every other bottle of water (I have a 24oz bottle I fill 4-6 times a day). I have several different flavors too so I don't get bored. I actually really enjoy plain water but I'm finding a lot of the food I prepare on this plan bland and my tastebuds need some excitement now and then!

It wasn't a huge change, but I don't have the nutrition info for the IP drinks (I buy them in individual packets) so I don't know how it compares. When the baby goes to sleep I will look at both of them and I can post the changes if you want me to.

I add ginger, cilantro, finely diced mushrooms (makes it a little softer), green chillies (if you'd like), and spices to taste. Turns out reaaaaaally good!!! :)

Your picture of your sheepdog is so great, I have always wanted 1, we had a border collie, he was our cattle dog. He is now gone for 2 years and can't bring ourselves to get another pet yet, we really miss him. You sure get attached to them. Have a great weekend!

I swear in 3 days I feel better already! I loved my sheepdogs, the one in the pic was 14 yrs old and died a few months after that pic and then the shar-pei/boxer that was my avatar before this one, was killed the next yr. she was only 4 yrs old. She slipped her collar and though it was a great game and ran out into the road in front of an SUV, I had a total breakdown and it is the first time we haven't had dogs. We have had 2 old English and they are great. Our daughter has a border collie and another rescue, but her collie is such a lover. Dogs are the best!

So glad you feel better and i'm sure you'll see great results on the scale in not time!

Your dogs are so cute, sorry they are no longer with you. We are such animal lovers that even with the 4 kids (5 on the week-ends as i babysit a 3y old), we still have room for a dog and 4 cats, lol.
