What is a ninja? I am familiar with a bullet but don't know what a ninja is. There are a few different mashed recipes so try until you find a favorite.

I guess I'm not sure how to explain it! It was recommended for making baby food which is why I got it b/c you can puree to a good thin consistency but it is able to blend, mix, or chop (including ice) so it seemed perfect. I am also excited to make salsa with it. Ohh..so many things on my "want to do" list!!!

I will definitely look it up! Thanks for the new kitchen tool tip!

I have an idea that might fix that. I need to run it past IB (Internet Brands owns this site) first, but it should make a big difference. I'll email them now, but it may be early to mid of next week before they get back to me.

If it is confusing for us veterans who have been here to watch the forum change and grow, it must be very confusing for all the new people joining in. We just want to find a way that would be more informative so people aren't as overwhelmed or feeling they post something only to have many new threads come in and now, what they really needed help on has been buried way down the page or moved to page 2.

No personal attacks or hard feelings being expressed, just desires for an even more usable an functional forum.

Thank you. I was one of those yesterday that felt the posts were directed at me since I had started a "new" thread. I, too, just had a small window of opportunity to come on the forum. I want to thank you for answering my question about eating that 4th packet on the first day of school, I was feeling kind of guilty about it. In other forums I belong to we often start new threads (that do get lost by the way,LOL!) and I guess I was used to that.

Thanks for sharing! NOT AT ALL!! Everyone has the opportunity and right to open new threads it just sometimes because a lost cause if too many are opening and you are just bumped farther down the activities page.

I too have been in other forums. I have been a part of only 2 that were VERY well organized, easy to navigate, well searchable, and well, EASY! Most are rapidly moving and changing.

I hope school is off to a great start. Yes, the 4 packets might be pretty necessary depending on how active you are during the day. Keep in mind just standing, moving about the class, and such for 6 hours might be all it takes to burn off the bulk of calories for the extra packet so don't worry about including it if you truly feel hungry.

I apologize if Ive posted too much, its just that I am barely hanging on right now and oh so close to my goal!

I agree with showgirl that it wasn't intended as a criticism directed towards anyone. My concern is that I only really look at the first page of the forum threads, when I do take the time to venture further into the threads, I notice a number of questions posted that never got answered, or it never got the attention that the poster deserved. I'm in maintenance and like to try to help people out when I can. I'll make more of an effort to at least look through the first couple of pages on the forum to see if I can help someone out

As a newbie.. let me just THANK all of you who have been here a long time and do help and reply. I have seen it over and over again. I know I must speak for many when I say THANK YOU for taking time to lead us.... there is nothing like someone reaching down to others, who are struggling where you have been, and giving them a lift of direction. YOU ALL make this site what it has become. Heartfelt thanks for the recipes and ideas and encouragement and friendship.....ongoing!!

I hope no one feels like this is directed at them, I really believe both newbies and Oldies alike are a little frustrated... Like most of you I have limited time to browse and that is why I think new threads just take up a lot of time as I like helping those who need it but with so many new threads I sometimes just focus on a few of them. I truly hope everyone finds that to get a standard procedure would really help. I have used the search a lot, especially when someone is asking about a recipe that is in one of the old links as there are pages and pages of recipes it is sometimes hard to find.
It would be nice to have the recipes classified like a cookbook but that is a LOT of work and everyone has their own lives and don't really have time.
There are times when I see a question and I think gee that is at the beginning of the sticky newbie thread... yes it would be nice if everyone could read all the threads but to begin with that has so much information and questions answered. It is kind of an essential read.

Since we're weighing in here (pun is intended) :D....I agree with brummie and Gina. It took me a while to get used to the daily chat because it was SO much back and forth between a few people, sometimes I wish people would post their question/success/challenge and wait for someone to get back to them (give it a few hours). I too have created a new thread to get SOMEONE to answer my question...lol

Quite honestly, I really feel frustrated some days that it's like an actual chat room vice a question/chat forum which is why we went up with 10 pages some day. I'm very overwhelmed at the end of the day going back to see if my question was answered. .

I'm happy we are discussing this and really glad it's about making it better and hope everyone understands no hurt feelings...cause really...I kinda need all of ya to get to the end! And to keep it all off...:)

bump for newbies this week.

JellyMae87 01-07-2012 10:52 PM

I am bumping this... Please put this into consideration... I understand that there are a ton of questions... But do we really need to have 10 threads for advice... Please read the stickies... There is a wealth of information... Thats why its a sticky!!

4kiddos 01-08-2012 11:14 AM

Bump

Yes, it is frustrating to see so many new threads. Like another posted, I usually just check the first page. Lots of times, I forget there are more new pages. There has to be a way to control new threads.

What about a stickie thread for quick questions only?

There are way to many challenge threads. I am also saddened that due to the many threads that lots of threads get pushed to the bottom.

Too many challenge threads? we only have one for IP and its usually for 8 weeks. Only the Moderators can do the Sticky threads.
