Low Weight Loss High Fat Loss/Muscle Gain week

  • Hrmm, just wondering if anyone else experienced this. I only lost .8 lbs this week (week 3) but I lost 7lbs of fat and gained 6lbs of muscle. I can feel a difference from last week. I did loose 1.5 inches from bust and an inch form my waist. Gained a fraction of an inch in my calfs. I did start walking the dog further this week. Is this normal on IP?
  • I would find that really hard to believe personally..Its not possible for a women to gain 6 pounds of muscle in a week..It is in fact very difficult for a women to gain even a pound of muscle in a week..so inless your using steroids to help bulk you up, i would say that whatever method your coach is using to measure you, is out of wack..the weight loss is believeable and same with the inches..but the muscle part is not..
  • Well it definitely isn't steroids...unless someone is slipping them into my food while I'm not looking

I get on the same metabolic scale every week. They did just move offices, so I'm not sure if the scale being on a different floor would make a difference. The numbers on my sheet from last week and this week show those numbers. Very odd. I guess I will see what the numbers are next week.
  • Moving a scale definitely alters the weight.
The was one person who had a 7 pound gain cuz they moved the scales from one place in the office to another..and just for kicks they moved it back..and sure enough...7 pound difference.
  • I had a very similar experience at my WI this week. .2 # loss, 8% lower fat and a couple % gain in muscle, my calculated age dropped a year also. I tend to think it is a problem with the scale and the fact that I've been traveling and not drinking enough water and a couple of off plan days thrown in. While I was away I did get an abnormal amount of exercise helping our daughter and son-in-law move.

It will be interesting to see if a week back home with all OP meals and plenty of water will get the readings back to "normal". I really can't believe there could be that much shift in fat and muscle in a week's time.
