I'm going to give it a couple days before I get too concerned. (Hmmm... have I said that before?)

Staying the same doesn't sound like an upward trend to me. Good job!

OMG! I'm so happy to know that I'm not alone. I'm on Phase 4 since 3 weeks and it's a worst battle than when I were on Phase 1! I'm always on the scale to know if I gain weight, looking at my belly and my legs and looking at my jeans when I wear them. I'm totally obsess and want to try to lose an other 5 lbs just "to be sure". I'm doing exercices each day but don't see any changes and my BF is going crazy when I told him that I can't eat Subway for lunch with him 'cause i'm suposed to eat a fat at lunch and carb for dinner and we know that we are going to eat prosciutto pasta. I have the impression to be saddest than before my weight loss. Yes, i'm happy to be thinner but I don't want to always have the impression to live in a "Boot camp"!! Thanks to show me that i'm not alone :)

MInewgoal 08-15-2011 04:44 PM

So..I was reading Dr. Trans book again, and I prolly will one more time before I hit phase 4, but I was wondering if any of you on phase 4 stop eating by a certain time? Do you give yourself 12 hours of Non-eating, or do you just eat as you were?

thanks

Hi everyone!!! I was a regular on the daily IP chat during phase 1-4. I'm now totally in maintenance and felt the need to come back. I've been on maintenance since May and I've noticed the past 3-4 weeks a couple of pounds trying to creep back in. I'm fighting to get rid them now and have gone back to the basics. I have some IP products left and I have purchased a few from other sites that are comparable to IP. The one thing I can't find is one of the vitamins. The potassium/calcium. I think I will contact my coach and just buy them from her and be done with it. I think this site is a great way for me to seek the support that I loved when I first started this journey last October!!! I look forward to everyone's input and support.

Hi Laura!!! I always loved reading your posts on the daily threads!! Congrats on your reaching your goal weight, you look marvelous!!!

YAY! I've found a home! Thank you so much for putting your idea into motion woolberger! I began maintenance 2 weeks ago due to shoulder surgery. I am amazed that it is really working. Smile. The freedom to still have explosive blowouts of celebration with food is not a hindrance anymore. My second legal cheat was yesterday and the desire for "the cheatables" was barely even there. What an amazing program for life this is! Smile. I look forward to hearing what each of you has to say about how your lives are going post phase 3!

Welcome. We are all right there with you. I still feel a bit obsessed on this plan. That being said...you can easily order a salad at Subway with oil & vinegar dressing. They will make it anyway you want. Do you have Jimmy John's where you are? It is a sub shop that will make any sandwich wrapped in a lettuce leaf. I think we need to learn to think "outside the bun". Oh wait...that's Taco Bell.

Does he advocate a fasting period each night?? Shoot. I need to read his book again. It has been a while. What does he recommend?

Hey...Welcome back. I have been on this site for 6 months and I have never heard that anyone found a good substitute for the IP potassium/calcium. Probably should just get it from your coach. Since I am on maintenance, no one questions anything I buy.

So glad you are here! I continue to enjoy my spiral veggie cutter. You are always motivating and full of good ideas. Keep them coming!

Hope your recuperation is proceeding well.

Thank-you Lynn for starting this thread... I'm in my second week of Phase 3 and will be finishing up on Thursday... I've loved all the support I found thru the first three phases on 3fc and I'm glad that there is now a thread for the maintenance crew- as this is probably the most important part...

I agree with you, Lynn, that the goals we set were arbitrary. When we had weight to lose, how were we supposed to know how much 20-30-40-etc. lbs lost would look and feel like?! I guess part of maintenance is learning how to eat to maintain the weight loss and drop a few pounds when the weight starts to creep back up. I do feel that in IP I've found a weight loss program that allows me change my eating habits for life and control my weight. So I'm nervous about Phase 3 and 4, but also optimistic.

Lee

I totally agree with this. It is so impossible to know what you will look like after you shrink and really how are we supposed to know when to say when? It's so easy to focus on the parts that still need work rather than seeing the parts that really don't. I saw my upper ribs (like the part above my boobs) thru the skin and was like, whoa, when did those get there?? And yet, I find myself mildly disgusted with the chub that remains on my belly and thighs... Sigh... Acceptance is very difficult... But hey I'll take chubby thighs & belly over fat thighs & belly any day of the week ;)

I don't think you were being negative- just offering perspective- and that's what the asker was asking for. As my dad says don't ask a question if you're not prepared for the answer...

So glad to see others here. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I have this great crop of tomatoes coming in. I made fresh salsa but, of course, ate it with chips. Does anyone have a favorite lower carb chip or chip substitute? Eating salsa with celery or another green veggie just isn't as satisfying. I've been experimenting with kohlrabi & daikon radish but haven't gotten them crispy & strong enough for salsa. I'm sure there are things I haven't even thought of.

That said, I ate waaaay too many chips yesterday so I guess it's a phase II day for me today.

Lynn

Have you ever tried making turnip chips?

Wow last October already! And you're still maintaining- thanks for the inspiration! Dr. Tran (and my coach) both mention that we will 'naturally' gain about 6-8 pounds over the course of a year and a once a year 'tune-up' is encouraged. Where in we go through all the phases again to get back to our ideal weight... Welcome Back...

Douger963 08-15-2011 11:17 PM

I'm 5 lbs from my goal. I've been on phase II for over a month. I'm looking forward to going on phase III. I've lost 12lbs on phase II and feel it's time to move to phase III.

However, I like the idea of this thread, because I had lost and gained back 100lbs before and really don't think I have another big weight loss in me. I'm looking forward to maintenance and planning on this life style change to stick. I'd like this to truly be the last diet.

amaliayosa 08-16-2011 06:17 AM

Hope to be joining the maintenance crew soon ;) I have tn pounds to go and am already stressing!

Coloradodivegirl 08-16-2011 09:49 PM

Well well well Woolberger, great thread!!!

I for one havent posted here for a while, sorry it just seem so repeatative to me. I pop on maybe once a month but never post.

I for one have been maintaining for 2.5 months and still weighing anywhere from 102 (4 am) to just under 106 (8 pm) Not to bad for my goal being 110. I have learned so much in this 2.5 months, one being I seem to be carb sensitive, maybe it's just in my mind, IDK. I for one have never feared gaining the weigh back as, as much I really did enjoy this plan, I certainly don't want to do it again. I am a very OCD person and I think it helps me to stay on track.

I eat my yogurt salad every single morning (Greek yogurt, a splash of almond extract, 4 diced strawberries, a handful of blueberries and a 1/2 of handful of walnuts and right before serving I throw in a handful of Fiber one cereal. On the side, I have a few pieces of cantalope & a few grapes. I also feel that not all Greek yogurts are the same, I can't believe I have become a greek yogurt snob, but this girl only eats Dannon. I still do my cooked protein, veggies with butter or cheese for lunch, and a cooked protein and veggie for dinner, or sometimes just a packet depending on if I'm hungry or not. I never eat carbs at night, idk why, I just dont. Carbs anymore freak me out. I do still have my bedtime snack packet. I also hardly eat restricted items, bars just don't seem to satisfy me like a pudding does, unless I'm really craving oatmeal, then I eat cinnamon/apple oatmeal from Lindora. I also still have one "free day" once a week, and boy does this girl indulge! :) Next day, Phase 1 and I'm like new again. :) :)

I have my "one month" WI on Thursday, only 1.5 months late. lol. I was suppose to go in on July 5th, but I spent 4th of July weekend in Maryland meeting my favorite Caylee Anthony blogger for the 1st time, and there was no way I was hitting the scale the day after that weekend, or at least, not in front of my coach! *tee hee* The only reason I'm doing my WI is I do miss my coach and I need my favorite, Crispy Cereal & Dark Chocolate pudding. YUM!

I get most of my packets now from Lindora or Nashua, as I will always have packets in my life, I feel safe with them in my cabinet. I have been learning how to cook low carb and have found it to be fun! Most of the stuff tastes better then the high carb version! Meatloaf is my new kick! lol. I still cook a lot of protein on Sunday's and freeze them in little single serving baggies for ease of my during the week lunches, and dinners.

My coffee "creamer & sugar" is 1/2 of a GNC Lean shake, those things are so darn good and cheap too, especially if you can buy them on BOGO. I buy those things by the cases! Hubby things I'm high on protein or something. lol.

I do kind of worry about this winter tho, when fruits & veggies aren't as good. Seems like fruit in the winter just isn't sweet and melons are hard and just down right yucky, not to mention, expensive.

I can honestly say that this his truly been a lifestyle change for me! I think the once a week free day helps me to make the right choices for the next 6 days, after all, look how quickly a week goes by!

Since I'm here and yacking... lol. I'll share a old family recipe with you guys. It's easy, delish and low carb.

Italian Green Beans

4 cans cut green beans
1 or 2 cans petite diced tomatoes (depending how much you like tomatoes)
8 - 10 cloves of garlic (peeled but whole)
1 tube of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage.
Sea Salt & Pepper

Brown sausage, drain of fat. Throw everyone in a cassarole dish and cover. Bake 350 degrees for, Idk, about 30 - 45 minutes.

I wish you all the very best with your maintanence! Make the right choices, do the right thing and this will be your last diet!!!!

Thank you blog, as I read with you 6 months before I started and posted and read throughout this experience, there is no way I could have done this without all of you! You guys made me believe in myself and taught me to "take the leap" I am sooo happy that I did! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What a fantastic and informative post!! Thanks so much!...I'm on phase 3 right now and you just reminded me to quit stressing so much about phase 4 - you are doing such a great job! Your sample daily menu is just what I needed to read. thanks!
Do any of the other phase 4'ers mind sharing an example of a day's menu plan?

Sherry,

So good to hear from you! It sounds like you are doing so well. It is because of you that my Dad & I watched the Casey Anthony trial this summer. (He lives with me.) What was your connection?

We live so close. We've probably passed by each other.

Lynn

Coloradodivegirl 08-16-2011 10:46 PM

LOL Woolberger! I'm glad I'm not the only one who wasn't 2 months of my life watching that damn trial! AGH!

I didn't have a personal connection to the case, I just started following the second I heard the "31 days" I then found myself reading on this blog on Fox Orlando and before ya knew it, I was posting with them. We blogged together for 3 years, and that blog is still going on. Wonderful friendships were made and many of the bloggers have met. Justice wasn't served for such a beautiful little girl, but she sure brought a lot of people together for love and friendship. I sure hope karma gets Casey and I do mean soon!

Arent you in Boulder Woolberger??

Sorry blog, for the off topic!
