Hey Darbs, great to hear from you and see you new picture!

yes, for me it was also about 30 pounds before anyone noticed...weird but true.
I LOVE the papertowel theory and that is a good thing to remember in phase 4, to keep the pounds from slowly creeping back...I will use that image!

One thing that helped keep me motivated...I got a 1 lb box of butter (empty!) and put it on my dresser. You've lost 20 boxes of butter!! Even if other people are not commenting yet, this is a grand accomplishment, so CONGRATS to you!
If you have friends who buy butter, maybe they can give you the empty boxes and you can pile them up so you have a strong visual on just how far you have come?

People notice on me but I don't notice myself. I always wear baggy clothes so I don't really notice

It definitely depends on body type and frame as to when people (or yourself) will notice. People didn't really start commenting until I had lost about 25lbs. and I was at 173 start weight. So hang in there, take progress pics (and maybe do measurements with a tape measure), and as the weight keeps coming off, you will get lots of comments.

Be patient, and all of this will be worth it. I promise!

First..congrats on the 20#! Feels wonderful, doesn't it? Second...I made this comment to you numerous weeks back when you didn't understand why you couldn't see a 10# loss. You and me, girl...WE ARE TALL! 20# loss on our frames does not look the same as 20# on a 5'-2" woman and people will not notice it as easily. I have lost 33# to date and the comments/compliments are coming at me everyday now. The main reason (I think) that people are finally saying something to me is because I now wear smaller size clothing so the loss shows very easily. I was right where you are 13# and numerous inches ago. Have patience, grasshopper......you will be there very soon. If anything, use this as an excellent motivational tool to press forward.

If you want people to notice you, push your shoulders back, put your head up and plant a big smile on your face...they may not know exactly what is different about you, but they will know it's definately something great....they may say something to you or not, it doesn't matter. After the initial struggles you had, you should be very proud of yourself, Port. Let that pride shine through you and people will eventually begin to notice...honest.

I was around the 30lb lost mark before people started to notice. That said, I still have a few people in my life who have said absolutely zilch even though I see them every 1-2 weeks and I'm 48lbs lost! I think some people don't like to say anything unless they know for sure what is going on with someone (sick, diet etc). I have the same issue with pregnant women, I don't say anything about a baby bump, unless I know for certain that it is indeed a baby bump! (god knows I looked pregnant for years when I wasn't, and was asked once when i was due!)

I'm about 7 pounds behind you so I hope people keep noticing within the next few weeks.

I have lost around 56 lbs and some people have noticed. Other people kind of look at you a little funny. I think they want to say something but don't know how.
