I noticed you are one of the few IP dieters who has had steady weight loss, without a gain week and only one stalled week.
CAn you tell me a little of how you worked the plan? Including your staying strict, using alternate foods, exercising, additional packets, restricteds. If you don't mind, that is!
My coach contacted the IP Scientific Lab and this is the response that we received.
"Jicama is allowed on Phase 1, although you can only have a 1/2 a cup a week."
So that is like less than a restricted veggie. So I wonder is it even worth it?
Hmmm..im sittin on the fence with this one.. im hearing conflicting reasoning here.. Yes..its got a lower net carb count that a restricted veggie..BUT..its a root veggie...a yam and a potato isnt allowed..so why would other ones be allowed? However...its not on the list at all..so does that mean its not allowed? because i GUARENTEE that not all veggies in the world are on the list...
I guess leave it up for yourself to decide which way to go..its your body..your choice..and if you dont know..dont go there..
It is on my Phase I sheet as permitted vegetable - I got this sheet in September.
I also know that a lot of folks on this site swear by it.
I eat jicama, as fries, on a salad or fried with some coconut oil and topped with splenda and cinnamon ( one of rainbow's recipes) I use about a cup at a time with other veggies or as a mid way snack. it has not hurt my losses and has helped me enjoy my veggies.
There are a couple of threads on here about our collective love for jicama It's actually a turnip, not a root veggie like potato or carrot. Delicious, and a great substitute for apples, water chestnuts in stir fry, or just by itself!

YUMMY.....YUMMY....OOOooo SO YUMMY....I NEARLY LiCKED THE PLATE!!
peel your jicama and slice as thin as you can!!
the thinner, the crispier the edges!!!
i only used 1 tsp coconut oil....in the pan...
saute your jicama chips on both sides....until slightly brown!
once they start to brown, sprinkle with cinnamon and splenda...
or powdered stevia or sweetener of choice.
flip your slices and cover the other side with cinnamon splenda too!!
O.M.G. SWEET GOODNESS!!!
ok....the taste....on the first bite...i was like....wait a minute...
these taste like....like....
a cross between a cinnamon funnel cake and those
crispy edges of your favorite pancakes!!!!
i kid you not!!!
WANNABiTE???????????
another bite...and ....YUM!!!!
i topped mine with 1 TBSP Walden Farms Maple Syrup...
and by the time i was getting to the end...this most delicious
flavor was bursting through leaving a puddle of
cinnamony goodness in the plate!!

Hey, in Rainbow's pictures, these look kinda like potato chips! Does anyone cook them with salt and a spicy seasoning instead of cinnamon? Potato chips have always been one of my weaknesses, and I'm looking for some substitutes. I tried the kale chips already...didn't quite do the trick for me.
