Possible Stupid ? about cooking
 

If I eat a pork loin that was cooked in the same crockpot as potatoes and carrots would that be bad? Do I need to cook my dh potatoes/carrots separately?

I don't.

I woudn't take the chance but would keep it separate at least in phase one.

I buy a vegetable mix that has carrots in it but I just pick them out and give them to my kids.

Remember portion control. Have a nice salad on the side. Also, remember this is a life style change, you are going to eat like this from now on.

This is just a convenience thing really, but I will just cook them separately to be safe.
