Speeding up the loss and avoiding the wk 4/5 stall

  • So I just had my third weigh in and I lost 3lbs. I have lost 14lbs total so far but its slowing down (obviously). What tips do you have to keep things moving and avoid that week 4 or week 5 stall out that I have read about? I am soo wanting to be at 175 next week (which would be a loss of 7#)...ideas?
  • I am not sure if there is anything to do but live through it. From what I can tell (and my experience) is the majority of us go through it. Maybe you will be one of the exeptions, who knows??? But I guess if you are eating a restricted everyday, you could try to not eat any restricteds. If you don't do any exercise, maybe you could start walking? Try not to eat out? Just a couple of ideas based on what I have read around here. The best piece of advice I received and will give to you, is no matter what, stick to the program.
  • I agree I went through the same thing. WI 4 was a gain of .4 I dont know how. today is WI 5 I am not expecting anything earth shattering. So lets see what happens. But I agree most of us have had this stall and just worked throgh it. you could try and up your water intake as well
  • If you figure out the magic secret let us all know!!! I lost 4 in wk1, 3 in wk2, 2 in wk3, 2 in wk4 and 2 in wk 5. I am in wk6 now and I am hoping the swoosh fairy comes to visit! Overall, I am very happy! I have never been able to lose 13 lbs in 5 weeks!
  • I too have had a slow down week 4 and 5, my coach recommended increasing protein. She said have 4 packets a day for a week. We will see if it is helpful next week. It appears that most people do this.
