CuteNCurls - I am new, but I don't believe you need to eat your lettuce at your meal times (and I was told I can eat whatever, whenever but I don't think my coach is all that knowledgeable!). Why don't you have a salad or lettuce stir fry in between your meals to help with the nausea. I don't do well when hungry -- I get trembly, grumpy, foggy etc. so I have been having a lettuce stir fry each time that happens. In my first week, I was having on in am and one in pm. I have since determined that I need my evening snack between lunch and dinner (my hungry time) and then I am content with tea after dinner. I was told that is ok. Find what works for you, don't walk around hungry and/or nauseas. You can tweak re perfecting ketosis as you go along but I suspect it will be pleasantly effective now matter how you shift things!

Thank you for your thoughts. I'm definitely struggling with the plan I was given. It's unfortunate that everyone seems to have a slightly different version of the same program. It really makes me question whether I'm being too strict with my food. I'll try the stir-frys for a couple days to see if it helps...I'm sure it will. Thanks!

Heather when was the last time you were able to lose 10 pounds in one week?
So quit beating yourself up, did you slip on something? Did you eat what you were supposed to everyday this week?
Don't sweat the little things, as long as each week you see the scale drop than it doesn't matter.
Also remember if you insist on weighing yourself at home, only do it once a day and do it at the same time, morning will usually give you the best results.

Otherwise just wait until you go for your weigh in, remember depression and stress are 2 of the biggest triggers for retaining weight and going back to eating.
So don't let it bother you too much, we are all here :)

Plus your my partner REMEMBER!!!!!
You asked for me and you got it lol.
Do it for me, do it for yourself, do it for your daughter... I am doing it for myself and my 4 month old son and my wife.

You are still young, you don't want to be where I am, 14 years later and then trying to do it.
I missed out on a lot of little things because I was so big when my 18 year old was in his teens, you are doing what you have to now so that you don't have to have the same regrets I do when your daughter is in her teens.

Oh now Heather I know you were still online when I posted those, and now you aren't.
Don't avoid me :)
It's all good, stay positive, we will get through this together.

10 pounds in one week is AMAZING. Heck, 10 pounds in 2 weeks is amazing if you ask me! Average out your weight loss and you are still KILLING IT!!!!! You clearly want it, you are here. But you may need to manage your expectations a bit. The average weight loss is 3-7 pounds. You are right smack dab in the middle of that. Perhaps if you set your expectations lower than you will not be disappointed. For example, I expected to lose 4 pounds my first week and 2 pounds each week thereafter with the caveat that sometimes I may lose a bit more or less but those would be my averages. I have lost 6 pounds in 8 days and that exceeds my miminal expectations so I am ECSTATIC!! Also, water retention, bowels, heat (swelling) etc. all play into the equation and it is not all within our control. It will even out over time!

Hey guys I haven't been able to get on a lot like I used to, but I had my weigh in this morning and I am now a 148.2 lb girl! yay <3
That's 3.2 lbs in a week...not as good as week 1, but I did have that wine, and the first week was a lot of H2O weight, too.
I lost 2 inches in my waist in one week, and 1/2 inch in chest, 1/2 in hips. Very happy! Everyone, don't give up it's so worth it to see the weight come off at the end of the week! Good Luck!

SOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE! In the beginning I had super high expectations but nothing is happening as fast as I wanted it to. However, by making my goals a little more realistic I'm realizing that I'm still make great progress...and I'm not doing as well as 10 pounds in two weeks.

Im here ...im gritting my teeth...im trying so hard to push through these cravings and these desires right now to go binge on donuts...anything right now seems to be popping out at me ...i dont know what this is such a hard day..the past few days have been easier..and all of the sudden..today is hard...

So far...so good..have stayed OP 100% BUT today..day 3 is just killing me...why is day 3 so hard???? arghhhhhhhhh...im so tempted by every single little thing..even my daughters banana looks good to me..

Im hanging in there Wayward..im givin er my all..maybe if i go have a mock ceasar salad it will help a bit...

Will be back late to update how its going..

How are you today??

Wayward 07-15-2011 05:26 PM

Doing good, no problems here.
Yesterday someone brought in donuts, didn't really bother me.
Someone upstairs is retiring and they are having a big party, and like 10 faculty told me to go get some sweets, but I just walked on by the room.

You have to make the choice to just ignore the temptations, of course I also had to work on the woman's machine today that always has tons of treats and chocolate around her machine, but it wasn't to bad.

Leaving in about 30 minutes to go to the doctor to be there when my son gets his shots, then straight over to physical therapy, then straight home so the wife can get in a hair cut, then when she gets home straight to the recycling center.
Then finally, cook dinner and chill awhile.

I look forward to your update later.

Have a great afternoon and evening everyone.

Porthardygurl 07-15-2011 05:32 PM

ahh yes.. i remember the second set of shots with my baby girl..she didnt even cry...my girl has to go in for her 1 year shots now..3 in the arm!!! ouch...i dont know how she is going to like that...probably going to cry im guessing..speaking of baby girl..her cheerios are all over the floor..gotta go

Porthardygurl 07-15-2011 07:24 PM

Well..im back..its 4:21pm and i think i just had my first ever vegetable binge..oh my goodness..
a
I ate 4 cups of spinach(meausred before cooked) and then a 3 cup mock ceasar salad.. and then downed 1 litre of water in one sitting..

Needless to say im stuffed..and i think it might have just killed my desire for anything else..and hopefully by the time the desire gets back..i will be at work so i cant do anything about it anyway..and by the time i get home.. i can have a packet and hop into bed after...

I think i might try for 4 litres of water today instead of 3...although i gotta say..my pee(tmi) is like...clear..there is no color to it anymore.. i guess im well hydrated!

Anywho.. hope everyone is doing well..i know im doing better..i think the salad definitly helped..

Craaaaaaaaaaaaavings. I gave in -( I succumbed and had 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter. I couldn't help myself. I was so hungry, I wanted it so badly. I hope it doesn't totally derail me. Its about 4gm carbs and some additional sodium and calories. Not too worried about the cals since I actually got about 75 mintues of exercise today but .... hope I didn't mess it all up for that fleeting moment of tasty goodness.

coliep 07-15-2011 09:00 PM

And I now know how fortunate I was the DH was doing a version of a low carb diet all week to be supportive because tonight he is not and the smell and temptation might be the end of me :/

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can . . .

Scofflaw1 07-15-2011 09:13 PM

you can do it coliep! bikini! bikini!
