Yes, my coach told me the same thing because the onions carmelize when cooked. It's funny how all the coaches have something different to say.

Yeah, I cant stand it:mad:!!! And i just miss cooking with them too, and then I see these recipes that have cooked onion and get confused as why they would be put up if we cant have them.....

Hello everyone! Well I made it through the 4th of July weekend and did not cheat! I have to be honest I am having a hard time right now! I'm in my 7th week and am struggling! I don't want to eat anything that I am allowed to eat. Every meal I am pretty much making myself eat and I am not happy! I keep telling myself that this is a phase and I will get over it...has anyone else gone through this and if so how did you work it out! I am happy with my progress and keep telling myself to think about the end result but I am a bit miserable! :?:

I don't follow IP I use alternative but the girl "mentoring" me went through the program and she said make sure to not saute them but I could roast them in the oven with my other veggies. Not sure if this is correct but I've roasted them a couple of times.

I am only in week 2 and I am still loving it and so happy with how I feel but I keep wondering if it will last. I hope it does obviously but I try to mix up my meals so I'm not eating the same things over and over or I deff will not make it fari. Congrats on getting through 7 weeks already. Like you said, hopefully it's a phase. Keep your eye on the prize!

Good Morning!! Had an eventful 4th of July weekend and did my absolute best to stay OP, it was hard, but I did it and I'm proud of myself!! Went through a box of old clothes that I had hoped I would fit in one day and some of them DID!!! I was super excited and I know my husband was tired of me trying on clothes!!!

I had a tough time at a picnic I went to, but I stayed OP and was a good girl, although it was all so tempting!! I have WI#4 tomorrow, so keeping my fingers crossed!!!

There is nothing better than shopping in your old clothes! I can't wait until I can start to have those days.

I basically find something I like and stick to it for a while. Roasted veggies are my favorite. Have you tried different veggies that you have never tried before? That is what I started doing. Pick a veggie find a recipe that fits with the program and cook it. I have tried celery root "fries" (I don't think the root was fresh it was a little soft), love having fennel in my roasted veg. Tried different types of mushrooms, there are some really small mushrooms I cut up and pretended they were noodles in a PHO soup. Tried rappini (not my favorite), tried radish chips, kale, chips, zucchini chips, daikon chips. I like to experiment and try different things. I add different spices all the time to my roasted veg.. I have Thai, Masala, tex mex, roasted garlic and pepper, I make a bbq mix that I add to them, have a fajita mix... Let your mind wander... if you are craving a certain thing that you are missing, try to make it IP fixed... I make pizza with the crepe mix, then I use cilantro pesto, chicken and veg and it is great. You really just have to be up for trying new things. Hope that gave you some ideas.

Frustrated. I just weighted in and have been so strict and only lost 1 lb and no inches. I have no idea why this is happening and I haven't cheated at all. I'm stuck at 142. The week before was only 2 lbs. Any advice because I'm really upset about it.

Wish I did! I know it is so frustrating! I have been hoovering at about 142 for a while. Drives me nutz! My coach said that your body will try to stay at where your weight may have been for a while in the past. I was about 140 for many years. I feel your pain. But don't give up!! I certainly see a difference in my body when I stress and get uptight about it. I was finally down about 140 Sat and today I am up to 143. Keep strong!! I have also read of others about "mixing" up your schedule to help. I am never on any sort of routine so not good advice for me but if you find yourself eating the same things everyday at the same time..Mix it UP!!! I have also recently upped my water to see if that will help!
Good luck!!:dizzy:

My coach said cooked onion is fine, as long as it has not been cooked to a point of caramelisation. But heating your onions in a stir fry, or soup, etc... you are not causing them to carmalize and have the sugar content go up

Whenever I start feeling this way (cause it's often--I cook alot for our friends and family and I do not eat the yummy food I make them! )...when this hits me I start searching for recipes. I ask myself "what" I am hungry for and try to mock it. Yesterday I just felt "hungry and not satisfied" probably because I have been watching everyone else eat in front of me. So I decided I was hungry for something Asian and filling..So I sauteed some bolk choy with garlic and some chicken bites and put in in my cream of chicken soup (of which I added a little more than normal low sodium ck broth cause I was hunngry. ) It was very yummy & did the trick. My advice is ask yourself what you are craving??? It may not even be food!
I hope this helps!

Roasting will also carmelized onions.

Good Morning everyone, it is a beautiful sunny day here and I am at work.... which is okay since can't walk the dogs because of the mosquito issue. So the start to another week of being OP. I love this plan even though sometimes you want things to happen faster then they do... I have to renew my drivers license this month so hope to be at the weight my drivers license says I am... havent been here for years... Have a great day and if you let the plan work it will work for you.....

So a little more information is required. What veggies are you eating? are you getting all your water? have you changed anything? Have you tried going to 4 packets for a week or going to Phase 2 for a week or two... Your body may just need that little bit more of protein to get the jump start again. If you look at my signature I gained +4lbs on my week 19... Your body is going through changes and it is adjusting, you just have to be paitent. My coach said that sometimes if you are stuck at a certain weight for a while it could be because your body remembers being at that weight and doesn't want to go any further... so paitence and following the program does work. Yes $81 for 1lbs of weight loss is a lot, but where would you be without the program? I fight for every pound I lose and yes sometimes I am bummed but I also have to look at it that it is hard for the body to adjust quickly to all the weight loss and sometimes it needs a week or two to catch up. I have also been told that you will have smaller weight losses the less you have to lose so it can be painfully slow. Stick to it and you will soon be seeing more loss.:hug:

I disagree with you totally. How do you know that your body just doesn't need a few weeks to adjust. Sure you can go off the program, and yes eventually you will get to your goal weight, but I think if you stay with the program and work through the plateau you will learn more and your body will adjust better and you will lose the weight faster then phasing off. Don't get me wrong, if you are happy at the weight you are plateauing at, then by all means work through the phases but you also have to understand that you will also gain weight when you go off the program as it is your body readjusting to a balanced diet. Of course this is just my opinion... and even though I have been on the program for 5 months I am still learning a lot and sometimes you just have to listen to your body.

some peoples goal weight is not realistic, I am a biochemist and if you are struggling for weeks, your body is telling you something. Even when you lose that weight, you tend to go right back up to where your body was happy for several weeks. the op had a loss the week before, so I don't consider 1 week a stall, just a slow down and adjustment.

Good morning everyone! I had WI #6 this morning and was down 3.2 lbs:) That makes 27 lbs total so far and I'm feeling great!
I spent some time going through my closet this past weekend. I was so happy to find some clothes that hadn't fit in a few summers that now do:)
I agree:

I was in a clothes store yesterday to do a return, I ended up in the fitting room for almost an hour, just hanging out trying things on...it was a good feeling:) I'm so glad a lot of the summer stuff is on "super" sale right now!
Here's to a great day and week, wishing you all a successful day OP;)

Just started day 2. Yesterday was rough as I was hungry all day until supper when I could have a more real meal. Today is better so far, I'm still hungry but not ravenous. I hope it gets better as I dont want to white knuckle the hunger for the next few months.
