Laura - good job staying on plan.
TinaCleg - welcome! :welcome:I can't answer your question, not a big gum chewer but good luck to you.

Just tried turnip fries. I have to tell you I was very skeptical. Wow were they good!

Susie: I know what you mean about your kids driving you up the wall this weekend. Mine were the same way. I don't know what it was but man oh man...lol. But glad you didn't eat emotionally.

Jo: Sounds like you had a great weekend with your dog. And great NSV's. Love it when people finally notice.

To all the others who are having a hard time. Just think it's all in the moment. Keep yourself busy. Go for a walk, drink some water, the cravings will go away. Just think of the end results and of your health.

Will have to go do some more grocery shopping this afternoon. It's a never ending story with a family of 6 and 2 teenagers. But I'm always there anyways buying the fresh veggies. I have no problem eating them..so yummy!!

Well have a great day everybody!!

Yay Jo for the whoosh fairy visit. I am not sure if you were working nights the week before your slow loss weigh in. I found that I stalled when I worked them and it looks like this week will be no different. I am happy as long as I am losing or keeping the same during these weeks.

You are doing great, some of the WF products definately have to be fixed up with spices before eating. I didn't really like the pink lemonade either but try it again later on your taste buds change while on IP. Have a great week and welcome.

Welcome, this is a great program and it gets easier (at least for me it has) as you go.

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend, mine was busy but I really enjoyed it. Saturday went to a retirement party and got to visit with a lot of people and it was a perfect day not too cold not hot. We could sit outside or go inside. It was a nice day.
Sunday was great, Rebel(my dog) and I did agility and she has improved and looks like she is over her injury that she did awesome. I love running with her on course as it is just the two of us as a team. I still miss running with my old dog Jewel as we were more insync, now that she is retired it is so hard to see the poor girl get old. She still wants to do agility but I won't let her so she is satisfied doing a tunnel every once and a while.

Cleaned out my closet last night (two HUGE bags for clothing) and made room for size 12 pants my friend gave me. It is so cool that they all fit too.
Some NSVs from the weekend: One of the ladies that does agility came up to me and said YOU have lost TONS of weight, I didn't recognize you. She made me laugh. A friend's husband also commented that I look really GOOD... nice to hear. A former co-worker said that I look much better (just after making sure I hadn't been sick). I also was looking through some photos at the retirement party and there was one of me when I left the department I was in, well this weekend I pulled the same clothes I wore when the picture was taken and they are far too big so I am now smaller than I was when I worked 12 years ago. I of course still see I have a long way to go, but I am getting there. Have a great week everyone.:carrot::carrot:

Awww Jo, I am so glad you had a blast at the retirement party. I am working nights so I was a no go for the event. I am soooooo proud of you for all your accomplishments so far on this diet! And doin a little diddy dance for you to get into the size 12s YAY!!!

Well this is day 2 of my IP Diet and I am just gonna say Yesterday was hard for me. I have a feeling this first week will be hard. But it will be worth it.
Yesterday I had a chocolate drink packet for breakfast and it was good. The WF Bacon ranch dressing was Horrible!! and I didnt care for the Pink Lemonade drink either!

Today is a new day though. The Vanilla RTD was good this morning.
So hopefully today goes smooth here at work!!

Hope everyone else has a great day also!!

Welcome! Just hang in there through the first week, and you'll do great! Also, the only WF dressing that I've liked without doctoring up is the Italian. :)

I'm getting a little frustrated with a 'whoosh' day after WI and then it goes back up again - but still lower then the last weigh in. The internal fight that my body goes through to keep the weight on is really getting to me, but it won't make me quit. :) A small victory is still a victory but it can get on your nerves when you compare it to the cost of this program.

When I'm feeling down I just come on here and read about others either sucess or frustration and it makes me feel not alone. So thanks to all of you who share! :)

Have a great DAY!

I could've written this myself!!! I get the same whoosh, then my body tends to hold on to everything after that.

Busy Monday here, just trying to not fall behind. I've had a lot of compliments in the last few days about looking great, and while I want to growl and say how frustrated I am with my belly fat not budging, I smile and say Thank You!

OK So I have hit my 25 lb goal! And my reward? a Dance bootcamp that Mr Wonderful and I will attend together.. He even picked out the dance studio. Its been hanging on our fridge since long before I met him.. I think secretly he has always wanted to do these dance lessons.. (My ever loving show boat Mr Wonderful) loves an audience.

Just had to post because YAY! I finally got my tracker!

Great job to everyone who stayed OP this weekend. I strayed on Saturday night, but I'm back OP and ready to keep losing!

Have a great day everyone!

albertamel 06-13-2011 04:07 PM

thanks everyone for your encouragement from this weekend. I'm finding the weekends are the most difficult for me, by far. it's the weekends that make me miss eating and drinking things I can't.
Today I feel better about it. I'm worried about camping this weekend with friends. I have a lot of friends who feed into my past delusion that I don't need to lose as much weight as i really do (trying to be nice, I'm sure). hopefully it goes well.

Great Job T... the first 25 was such a big thing for me too.. it is nice that he wants to learn to dance... me I hate walking backwards and tend to lead. Not real coordinated and don't trust my partner is leading me in the correct direction... can't dance, can't sing that is why I tended bar at functions. lots of fun. Just want to say I am really proud of you too, one of these days we will all have to get a picture together. Have a great week, and sorry you missed the party, I left early to go home and get ready for agility...:hug:

it also doesn't help that my boyfriend eats delicious things in front of me on the weekend too. I wish he would do IP with me, but he says there are too many rules. I think he's not ready to really let go yet.

My husband snacks all night long and it drives me bonkers...I try to have soy puffs or cheese curls in the evening and I make the package last so that I don't have to watch him eating and feel deprived.

Hi everyone! I am glad to see everyone had a good weekend. Mine was relaxing, I pretty much cleaned and read. My boyfriend went out of town so I was enjoying the alone time!

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else: I was in subway getting a salad and normally the bread smell makes me envious but I can usually deal with it. This time I felt mad, I just wanted to get out of there and standing in line smelling it made me angry. I know its crazy but the minute I got out of there I was fine. :dizzy: Just wondering if this is normal?!

Laura G 06-13-2011 04:26 PM

Albertamel - I just survived a weekend camping trip! It really helped that I took along the curls/crisps whatever you have to eat so when everyone else was muching down on chips etc, I pulled out my silver bag - everyone though I was eating junk food in a single serving pack, so I didn't feel like the odd one out. I packed my own salad, but brought enough to share - no one noticed that I didn't eat anything else. I ate the bbq steak, just asked for it cooked dry, and had a hamburger the next day without the bun - just mixed in with leftover salad - it's surprisingly easy to blend in with this diet. When I was tempted by all the crud everyone was having, I just told myself how good I was going to feel on Monday - how virtuous that I stuck to my plan, and committed myself to me.
You will also have great success this weekend - I have no doubt. Plan ahead, and don't fool yourself about the temptations you'll be facing - plan for them, have a way around them, be prepared! All the best to you!

I can not believe that I am losing this fast. I sometimes look at how far I have to go and think am I ever going to get there, then I have a weigh in like this and realize that it is very doable. I can not believe it. I know that many of you have had great success, but there are just times that the reality of this diet are amazing.:cheer:

Having successes like this are making the diet very easy and it is easy to resist temptation also with results like these. I am so glad that I started this and that in less than a year I am going to be at my goal weight. A weight that if I was truly honest with myself I did not think I would ever see. With this though I have the confidence that I will.

Thanks for taking time reading this and letting me rant. have a great day all.

Trish

Congratulations! You are doing so well and I love the positivity of your post, it absolutely made me smile. It is so worth the diet to enjoy the pride and self esteem that comes with following it. Good for you!

I have been reading all your posts for the last week or so and you have all motivated me to try this diet. So far, so good. I was a little nervous after reading how so many people didn't feel so good the first three days but I figure not feeling good for three days isn't so bad if after the three days I feel great. I hope everyone has a great week and I will keep you posted on my success.

Welcome! I questioned my sanity in undertaking this diet MANY times during the first three days but it is true that by day 4/5 things drastically improve and the results are well worth the effort.

Camping for me was HARD there was a lot of pressure to drink- I didn't get hassled nearly as much about the food as the drink cause everyone wants for you to join in the 'fun' and it doesn't help when I want to join in as well however this diet is finite! There is an end and at the end I will be able to incorporate drinks etc into my life. But for now I have to say no, not forever just for now. Keep repeating this mantra and good luck!

Today was WI6 and I lost 1.5. To be honest I was hoping for more (isn't that almost always the case tho':^:). This weekend was my Mom's birthday so we went out for that and as well the day prior I went to a restaurant. I did stay OP but you can never be as sure when you eat out as when you make it yourself. Can't knock it too much- just chafing to see the next 'decade' as the 150's loom so close!!!

I haven't gone back to work yet. I'm still on maternity leave. I only have a 8 days left and I go back to work. But I go back next wednesday for 2 days and then off for the weekend, but then my night shifts will start the week after. Not looking forward to it, not just because of IP, but because I've never been away from my baby girl at night. So I do 2 weeks of nights and then 2 weeks of days. I'll let you know how I do working nights.

Finally below 200

Congratulations everyone for a great weekend!

198 lbs!! Finally!!! I am below 200 lbs! Yee-Haw!! :D

I think the last time I was this weight was around 14 years ago so I spent the weekend tooting my own horn about how successful I've been. Yay me – lolol.

I sent two huge bags of clothes to a local shelter. They're always looking for clothes in plus sizes for women who’ve had a tough go of it and are trying to find work but just don't have office friendly clothes. As I can no longer wear something, I wash it and set it aside to go for donation.

(If you're in Edmonton the Bissell Centre is a great place to donate your gently used clothes. They will also accept gently used (still in good condition) larger sized bras as there is always a need for these rather expensive things. Seeing as I’m going through bras like crazy with the weight loss (9 inches gone off my bust in 11 weeks), I took 5 bras that I bought last month and barely wore. The ladies said they’d be gone by the end of the day). :)

I’m going to check out a local consignment place today to see if I can get some smaller clothes that won’t break the bank. I bought 3 new pairs of pants 3 weeks ago, and they’re already too big in the waist. I love this diet!

Have a lovely week wonderful people!

Happy Monday! Am now on my 4th day of IP. I didn't feel so good the 2nd day, headaches and dizzy spells. But ever since I have felt good. I am enjoying the variety of foods and so far everything I've tried has been pretty good. 1st weigh in is tomorrow, after only being on the plan for 5 days, so we'll see how i do!

The one kind of gum that I was told we can have is called Spry. I order it on amazon.com. They have a variety of flavors with peppermint being my favorite. The flavor doesn't last long but it sure helps keep me from eating. Hope this helps.

My best friends is a bartender and the only time I get to see her is if I go hang out there. So I went on Saturday, I had not seen her in a month or so and her jaw dropped when she saw me. She could tell that I have lost weight and she was surprised. She asked how much I told her 36 lbs in 6 weeks and was stunned. She said drinks on me what will you have? I said water with lemon please...she said seriously...what do you want you can have anything. I said that is what I want water with lemon and laughed. She said damn girl no wonder you don't come out anymore if that is all you drink. She used to make me all kinds of special drinks to try for her, so she will just have to get used of me drinking my water with lemon. I wasn't even tempted to have a drink, I was satisfied with my water!

Hello all, just joined this site today..

I started the IP diet on Saturday, June 11th..I've been doing good so far, but like most women on here I am feeling hungry, and starting to feel nauseaus and getting headaches.. is that all normal for the first little while on this diet?

I go for my weigh in tomorrow morning and I am very anxious and nervous to see what week 1 will bring for me !!

When I start to get a headache I take about 1/4 tsp of the sea salt and it knocks the headache out in about 10 minutes! When my coach told me to do this I was skeptical but I did it a few times and it has worked every time. Just a suggestion, never know it might work for you as well! Good luck on your WI tomorrow!!

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm starting IP tomorrow, I got my packets today. I've been reading the IP threads in this forum for days now. Which is a great thing, because my initial consultation with the physician today was not exactly very informative. If I hadn't read extensively ahead of time I wouldn't have had a clue what to ask!

It was my PCP who told me about IP. The reason why I went to see the doctor was because I've been gaining weight like crazy, in spite of sticking to a 1200-1500 calorie limit, and working out 2-3 hours a day five days a week. I'm still waiting for my labs to make sure there isn't another reason why I've been packing on the pounds. I showed the Dr what my diet consisted of and he pointed out that I was eating way too many carbs and working out too much for the amount of calories I was eating. So anyway, I cannot wait to get started!

LOL!!! Well I don't know about normal, but I've been there. I was very irritated standing in line smelling my weakness (bread). It progressed from irritated to feeling angry inside. Angry they were eating bread and weren't over weight. Angry that I look at bread and gain weight. Angry with myself for not having self control when it comes to bread. Angry realizing just how addicted to bread I am. Fortunately, like you when I got out of Subway I was fine. LOL! I keep telling myself I'm hanging in there even if at times it's by my raw fingers.

Hey everyone

Hi! I started the diet about a week and a half ago. I have been reading all of these posts and being inspired by everyone here for weeks, and just today I decided it was time to stop stalking these forums and actually post. :) So here I am.

I was pretty pleased with my first week, 8.8 pounds and 6.5 inches! Who knew anything could work so fast? I am worried about the second WI on Thursday, I don't think I have lost anything this week... but I guess we will see. I have not cheated AT ALL so far, which I am pretty proud of. I just started yoga and pilates this morning, it was lots of fun and I think it will work well with this diet.

I have seen a lot of people talking about doing "bootcamp" weeks with no restricted packets at all. My coach didn't even mention this as an option. Can anyone tell me if this helps a lot? I love a lot of the restricted packets (veggie chili and cookies and cream bars...yum), but I am willing to go without them if it will make a big difference.

maigy 06-13-2011 09:46 PM

can you buy IP products from this website? I am in CAmpbell River .. was just curious if maybe it is cheeper!

Mrs Diettrich 06-13-2011 10:57 PM

I'm happily hanging out here in maintenance land this evening! I had my second treat day yesterday and so am having my phase 1 day today. It's kind of funny but I realized today that in spite of having less to eat today than I'm normally getting now (since it was a phase 1 day), I wasn't dragging around or anything. More energy perhaps? :) I've actually dropped almost all the weight I put on in phase 3 (I only put on 1.6 lbs though), so for those of you that are getting close to phasing off, don't be afraid! You can do it. The phase 1 recovery day works just like we've been told it would and that is a very comforting thought. I think I'm the most relaxed on my phase 1 days, because I don't have to think about what I'm eating. THIS I know how to do!

I'm leaving for San Francisco in 34 hours - I can't wait to go shopping and bust out my swimming suit!

Oh no girl, take those things back and get them in M & L! My theory when I was dropping sizes so quickly was to buy on the small side - you KNOW you'll get into them within a couple of weeks! I bought a few sweaters at Eddie Bauer around Christmas time in a size L (which was perfect/smallish when I got them) and had my aunt take them in at Easter because they were just hanging on me!

Thank you so much! I think that I started on the program after you had already stepped away from the forums, but I think I've read every post you'e ever made (at least on the stickied threads!). I have been so grateful for your contributions to the forums. I started in October and hit maintenance on June 1. :-)

You should try crushing the SW cheese curls up and using them for breaded chicken nuggets. Dip chunks of chicken in a beaten egg, then in the crumbs. Bake on cooling racks placed on cookie sheets at 350 for 30 minutes or so. YUM. My husband prefers my chicken nuggets to the ones I make for him (using cornflake crumbs).

Don't be surprised at all if you have a low WI this week - 8.8 lbs is AWESOME for your first week. Week 2 can be a bit of a rebound. As far as bootcamp goes, for some people, it helps and for some, it hinders. Some people are much more carb sensitive than others. I'd say follow the plan for a month doing what your coach tells you (having restricteds, etc) and then if you want to change it up for a week and do boot camp, see what happens. I just know that there are some folks on here that DON'T lose unless they have restricteds...

Thank you! I will stick with what I am doing and see how it is going in a few weeks. :)
