Is the food good

I am considering starting this program but I was wondering if the food is good. What are some of your favorites?;)

Some foods are good, some are not bad. There are a few that I can not stand. A good bet is to try and find a coach that offers single packages, or lets you trade the remainder of your packages in if you find something you do not like.
I personally like the cream of leek soup, blended with cauliflower and broc.
I really like the pina colda drink and the pre made shakes and puddings.

My other half loves the omlette packages - where I do not like them.

I also use the oatmeal restricted to make meatballs and meatloaf.

If you get an intro package it should give you a good idea of what you like an don't like. I don't eat any of the bars, as I find it doesn't satisfy any sweet craving I do have, and just makes it worse.

Good Luck... It does work.

I LOVE the chocolate pudding, chocolate drink (with SF caramel syrup, it is yum!), a lto fo the restricted products are great too. The vanilla and chocolate RTD are good and filling as well.

Is the soy patty mix good?

Is the plain cereal like a dry cereal?

Momto2cs 06-09-2011 12:49 PM

Yes, the food is good. Even the crispy cereal is interesting...like sweet rice crispies.

You will definitely find some you like and some you don't, but the diet works!

Has anyone tried the soy patty mix??

I have some, but haven't tried it yet. I was raised vegetarian, on soy products so I'm sure I'll find a way to "fix it" if it isn't good!:D

I've tried the soy patty several times in an attempt to make it edible, tex-mex style, italian style, etc.. It seems to always come out very dry and just unedible texture to me. But I'm also a professional chef so my taste is a bit "different".

I really like the cereal. At first I didn't but found out to add really cold water and a little extra. Then I sprinkle cinnamon all over it. Love it! I also like the puddings, oatmeal, all the bars and puffs. The RTD are awesome and so handy to have.

I wasn't a big fan of the yogurt or eggs and some of the soups.

I agree if you can buy items seperately it is better than buying a whole box. The bars are addictive and it is so hard to stop at one.

I think on most things if you add some additional seasoning they are better.

I think the bars are AMAZING! My favorites are the lemon, cookies & cream, cran-granata and the new caramel crunch - YUM!

Also, I eat the crispy cereal from breakfast everyday. I find the longer I am on IP, the better the food tastes. The "milk" in the crispy cereal tastes just like real milk to me now.

This is an awesome diet. Good luck!!

Thank you! I am getting ready to place my order!!!

I would love that recipe.
I currently use the oatmeal for zuccini muffins, they are the best.

Its hit or miss with me on the food. I love the Omelets, the choc shakes. I pretty much live off of that daily.

Tab, have you tried it with an egg white then "fried" like a burger patty? I know with most TVP, you have to let it sit and reconstitute for awhile or it stays pretty crunchy.

Okay, these are amazing! You will feel like you're cheating when you eat 12 mini muffins in one day. I made these last night then had to hide them from my son after he ate his 3rd one. We did a sampling this morning at a few weigh-in's and it was love at first bite.

Oatmeal Zucchini Muffins: For All Stages of the Ideal Diet Protocol

1 package of Ideal Protein Maple Oatmeal

1 egg – beaten

1/2 tsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

1 tsp of Stevia or Xylotol

1-1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2-3/4 of small zucchini finely grated (squeeze out excess juice) 2-3 oz water

Beat the egg in a bowl. Add Maple Oatmeal, baking powder, salt, Stevia, cinnamon, and zucchini. Mix and gradually add water until you have a good batter. Spray muffin tin with organic cooking spray. Bake at 385°F. Makes 3 regular muffins or 12-bite size. Bake for about 7 minutes for mini muffins, 15-20 min for large.

These count as one restricted product and 1/2 cup of veggies. The egg can be counted as part of your "dinner protein serving", just have 2 oz less than you normally would
