Anyone on Metformine while on IP?

Just wondering if anyone was taking metformin while on IP? Have you had any issues with the two? Or has it helped?

Hi porthardygurl; I am on 500 mg or Metformin per day. Just went to my doc yesterday for my A1c and some basic bloodwork. I am into day 3 and I asked her how will I know if I don't need the Metformin anymore. She said that if I start to feel bad to call her. She anticipates that "if" I stick with this (which is a non-issue) that I won't be needing most of my meds. I am on blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds. I wanted to have the bloodwork so that we would have a baseline to measure against. I think it is probably a good idea to have a visit with your doc in the early stages of the diet. HI!

I used to take 2.5g of met a day, plus insulin at bedtime (lantus). After 6 days OP, I no longer take any metformin- my sugars went too low, and I've cut my lantus in half. My doc says about a month I shouldn't need any meds, or maybe sooner if I am super strict on my carbs.
