1st wk on the diet
 
Hey everyone! I just started this diet and I accidentally ate 2 restricted foods...has anyone done that and has it affected your weightloss?

Done it...you cant unring the bell, so just carry on...will it affect the loss, nobody can answer that, but in the end it doesnt matter. Get back on plan, and stay on plan and all will be fine...

I did it for a week and lost over 10# that week...

I ate 2 restricted packs 3 of my first 4 days. I don't recall my coach saying anything and I didn't realize until reading some of my literature about the 3rd time or so, and then it clicked. I lost 10 pounds in the first week. You should be fine.

I eat 2 restricteds on the days I exercise. I spin 3x/week and I eat a bar 45 min. before the class, and the chips within 30 min. of finishing the workout. I love this routine. I know that the exercise is slowing my weight loss, but I am totally fine with that. I could not be as successful (6 weeks -- no cheats) without at least 1 restricted a day. They save me, and it is nice to have a food treat to look forward to every day.
Someone asked about stevia/sweet n low. My coach recommends stevia. I think that sweet n low is okay, but aspartame is not good. It was recommended on the forums not to have more than (i think it was 6) extras/day. An extra being -- walden farms, sugarless gum, stevia. I personally try not to add anything, but I do succumb every now and then to the extras. But, I make sure to limit them.

Hi Moonkakaladda! I just finished week three and have done better with inches than weight. Maybe someone can answer this question for me. I am confused. I am told to stay under 30 carbs per day. Is this net carbs? And if I eat 2 cups of broccoli twice a day, a ideal protein shake, a soup and a restricted bar, that is already over the 30. Help me. I am struggling for answers and need help!

Bellneth - my clinic has never mentioned staying under a certain # of carbs each day. Just stick with the protocol sheet for Phase 1 and you should be fine. I know this topic (carbs) was discussed recently on a daily chat (you could do a search for it), and this was the advice given by nearly everyone. Also, I believe that most that do 'count' carbs go by net carbs. I don't pay attention to carbs p/day, unless I'm using some alternatives. My weight loss hasn't been as fast as I'd like, but I'm post-menopausal so that's to be expected. In 6 wks I've lost 19 1/2 lbs & 19 inches. I limit restricteds to 2 - 3 times a week.
