Also ebay has ideal protein packs for sale occasionally. If you think the seller is trustworthy, this might be a good alternative

I've been eyeing IP on ebay too... lol. But they always have some yucky packets in there. Then again, I've become a packet snob and not just any packet will do... lol.

Coloradodivegirl: Too true! Ive been on the diet a little over 2 weeks and most things Ive tried arent too bad, but I can see myself getting pretty picky. What are you favourites?

Coloradodivegirl 05-16-2011 07:49 AM

Samantha...

Well I've never had a restricted before, so I don't know about those. Out of the non restricted packets, I have gotten to the point that all I eat is Dark chocolate pudding, butterscotch pudding, vanilla pudding, banana pudding & crisp cereal. Blueberry pudding was pretty good too but after 5 of them, I was done.. lol. I never liked the soups, and have never had the omelet, just didn't sound good to me, especially since we can have eggs as our protein.

I have tried a few items from Lindora. The chocolate cake is FAB and the apple custard crunch is really good too. Syntrax Nectar is good from Netrition.

Really never had a restricted? They are pretty good :) The soy nuts are great, the bars are all really good and handy to have in my car/purse.

I also love the dark chocolate pudding. I just bought the blueberry pudding so hopefully I like that. I agree the soups are not so great. Although, the last time I made the cream of mushroom soup, I simmers a ton of veggies in about 2 cups of fat free broth and then added the soup at the end. It was really good and big big big, and filling.

I have the omelet sometimes - I just add veggies and spices and its pretty good.

But I havent tried the other brands you mentioned so I will look out for those. Thanks for the tip.

I enjoy the dark chocolate pudding with a couple drops of chocolate raspberry stevia.

I think I am going to have to find an alternative to the dark chocolate and butterscotch puddings once I phase off the diet. :-p

There are several chocolate puddings from Nashua & Lindora. I tried the Proti-diet brand of their dark chocolate pudding, I could taste a hint of artificial taste. I also tried dark chocolate pudding from Lindora. I personally thought it was way to sweet. I'm still on a mission. But you should try the chocolate cake from Lindora, it is heaven! With that cake, who needs chocolate pudding? lol. I haven't tried others butterscotch pudding, but would sure like to find a good one!

I was about to order amino acids from them when I realized that my protein powder that I get from Costco has the same amino acids that IP has so I was covered. Looks like this site sells the calcium-potassium also.

What brand did you find on there that sells the PotCal blend? I didn't see it in the Swanson Brand. Thanks

I don't know if this will help, but your grocery bills will go down because you're buying much less food. When you take that into account, it's not so bad.

I didn't care for any of the puddings. Left an after taste in my mouth. As well as the apple oatmeal. I like the Wildberry yogurt, chocolate, vanilla drinks. Soy chips salt an Vineger. The brownie was not too bad. Great to keep with you in the car when traveling. Approaching week 2. I have lost 5lbs.

Initial sign up, 1 week food, vitamins $399.00. The IP food was $114.00 after that if I only bought 3 unrestricted and 1 restricted. I couldn't afford to buy extra flavors to try. After 8 weeks of IP I switched to alternatives from Nashua and now 2 weeks is about $112-128. IP was very effective for me but I prefer alternatives for cost, more food options, and if I hate something I don't feel obligated to eat it.

Hosegirl 11-30-2015 04:13 PM

Has anyone used the 18Shake brand?

simplchaos 12-02-2015 12:00 AM

I have only used alternatives. Way cheaper and has worked great for me.

I have done this diet before and ordered from diet direct. Usually receive the shipment within a few days of placing the order.

Ip

I have just started the Ideal Protein program (which I think I was grossly over charged, by a Dr in a plastic surgeons office)... the foods are expensive but a friend of mine is on it for a few months and she looks like a new person. I am thinking about moving to Ideal Weight Loss clinic who may be cheaper.

Its worth it if you can afford the price
