Default egg whites???

I keep seeing recipes that include egg whites. My coach only told me about 2 whole eggs counting as my protein for the day. How do I count the egg whites?

As far as I know egg white is free to eat, and not count as the only protein for my whole day.

I know if they are "free" but should they be used as an occasional treat?

My coach said it was good to get them in everyday. They are very low cal and a good source of protein. Many of us use them in recipes with the packets.

I was told it's okay to add egg whites - freebee.

A whole egg has 77 calories, 6 grams protein, 5 grams fat, 1 carb
An egg white has 16 calories, 4 grams protein, 0 grams fat, 0 carbs

If you want to vary the protein source in your meals, eggs are a good alternative to meat all the time. 2 large eggs don't have as much protein as meat, so my coach said to add an egg white.

Thank you for the responses...I have learned so much from y'all. My coach seems to leave out the details and doesn't give me much time to ask her questions at each appt.

They aren't unlimited, most coaches seem to be recommending up to 2 per day. You don't need to count them as your protein.
