I get excited every day about the new me and am happy that Couts71 found the Ideal Protein and was brave enough to start it so we have a live example among us. I value everyones advice and encouragement each and every day, even though I have been here for 12 weeks it seems like yesterday. I love trying new things and Cheeky thanks for helping with the celery root, I am going to have to try it. Haven't been able to find it in my vegatable market yet but will try "regular" stores. The days are getting longer so my dogs and I spend a lot of our evenings outside so I usually sneak peeks at this wonderful forum throughout the day at work.
Things I am looking forward to this year are being Healthier, happier and want to try new things. A co-worker who is off on leave talked to me yesterday and he said I sound happier. I have found that I don't let things bother me like I use to. Maybe I am more comfortable with myself now. I love my job and that really helps.
GailMarie - I also started the year off with deciding enough was enough and to do something about my weight. I am so glad for IP.
Lace&Levis - your wrap looks so yummy I am going to have to try that.
Adrean - Congrats on your decision I am happy that you are getting close to your goal. Happy moving by the way.
Have a great day Everyone.

Wow! Congratulations to all those who shared great WI's and NSVs! Today seems to be a good day for many of us.
I am proud to report that I did not have, nor did I need, a 3-4 p.m. snack today!
So appreciative for the good advice that I've received! I will try this plan again tomorrow and see if it keeps up or if it was just a fluke.
On the downside, my daughter has come down with the Fifth's Disease. Maybe that explains the fever that I've been having off and on. Tonight, my husband is sick. My daughter has a rash but is bouncing off the walls (almost literally). My son seems fine.

Yay! So happy to have someone else along on this journey! I am amazed at how close our stats are!
I started IP on March 14th.. I have faster weeks and slower weeks... and a thyroid condition (on medication). We'll probably reach our goal around the same time! I'll be looking forward to your posts!
By the way, I can see the difference in your photos!
I need to take photos... I have "before" but I think it's about time for some progress pics!

I think you will see a nice change after next week! .

Thank you. I have spaghetti one day per week and chili one day per week. However, I may stop now that I find having a resricted in the morning might relieve my 3-4 p.m. hunger.

I am so glad to see you back here! You look great in your picture (you remind me of Cali in Grey's Anatomy - I find her so pretty)!

You will find other things to look forward to in time. I think this is just a part of the process. The transformation is both physical and psychological... it has to be if it is going to work.

What type of equipment is she using to determine LBM? Most of the time there is a significant variance in error allowed for those. They can also vary based on how much water you had. If you are slightly dehydrated the LBM will be thrown off. SO, I wouldn't put much stock into all that and, I would question why she was making a big deal of a 1 time reading.
Congratulations on the loss!

My kids all had fifth's disease several years ago. I had no idea what it was. It scared me. My son had a fever one day then a scary looking rash the next. I took him to the doctor and she told me what it was and not to worry. Then she said the other kids will get it. Probably in about two weeks. Sure enough two weeks later my daughter got it, then about two weeks later, my other daughter got it.
Luckily, the day they had the fever was the only day they felt bad. Then after that they were fine. (Except being covered by the rash). My husband and I never got it. Maybe we had it as kids, and don't remember. But I never heard of it before that.

Susie_Bee-
We really are in similar boats! I also have thyroid issues (I'm on synthroid). My weekly losses have been pretty slow, and I'm guessing that may have something to do with it. I've also been "tweaking" the program a bit and throwing in extra egg whites throughout the day because I'm so hungy and SF jello every night and a couple sticks of Spry gum every day. My coach asked me to stick to the program EXACTLY this next week and see how it goes...so I've cut out the extras this week. My last 2 WI's have only been 0.5 pounds each, so I'm hoping for a bigger number next week!
You should take some progress photos! I love seeing everyones photos!

Hope to see you around more showgirl!

Day 24 down and loving life. I think by the end of the month I can safely go bikini shopping! In the begining of this diet all I could think about was phasing out and getting to maintenance so I can have the cheat days and finally eat hot wings and blue cheese again. Well while I get a bit excited for it, I almost wish I could live on phase one forever because it is so easy. I think phase 2 will be the most difficult because I love my salad and cuc's and 2 egg whites w/ my home made dressing after my power walk, then at around 2:30, I like my 1/2 IP choc pud with 1/2 whey protein and cold coffee shake. It gets me through the rest of the day charged. I guess I will have to have a bag of pink salmon and a cold black coffee instead!
So my only real complaint so far is that I have been pretty much non stop bleeding and I elimited everything that had soy protein as it can increase estrogen. My only guess is that it is an effect of the estrogen releasing from my fat cells that I am burning... Anyone else with this little side effect?

The cheese curls are AMAZING as chicken nugget breading - I do this all the time. Super yummy. Also, be mindful when you're shopping - the Splenda brown sugar is a blend of splenda & regular brown sugar. It isn't safe for this program!

snow- it does feel that way sometimes, doesn't it? maybe after awhile you'll look forward to slipping comfortably into a pair of skinny jeans? i have to admit tho, i had set some scheduled off protocol days and found myself looking forward to those dates. of course i also did the new hair cut, mani, pedi, etc. but mostly i've had fun shopping. so hang in there, hopefully soon your brain will accept your lunch sacrifice for a bigger reward!

OH NO!!! I didnn't know that about the splenda brown sugar...I just used it today to make sweet and sour sauce. Oh well, it was delicious, and too late to turn back now. I will definitely try the cheese curls on chicken...Do you have to dip the chicken in egg to make it stick?
I love the way IP is working, and I have had people come up to me on a daily basis saying that I look great!!!

The sugar free maple syrup can be used as a "passable" substitute for brown sugar in some recipes.

Well boo on the splenda. Oh well I'll try something different! I think you could just use egg whites to dip the chicken in for the breading. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds yummy!
