New soy patties

Has anyone tried this yet? We just got them in and I only got one just in case I don't like it.

Had it today and could not even finish it.

Yuck.

I just made it and it's good. I was super hungry though too! I used sea salt, garlic and lots of minced onion. I cooked it for a while and then put it on some sauerkraut with spicy mustard. It's not bad but I couldn't eat it everyday. It's nice for something different and I usually have a liquid lunch so it's a nice change.

it was a nice change of pace, but i agree that it wasn't great. i was hoping it was something like a falafel patty, and the texture was more dense than that so i was slightly disappointed...

I tried the new soy patty as well and was also very disappointed, not at all what I was anticipating....yuck!

I was really hoping it was like a falafel as well, sadly, not so much. :(

I tried it over the weekend and liked it well enough. It reminded me of a veggie burger. I just added garlic, onions, and dipped it in mustard.

I may have done something wrong, but it kept crumbling on me. I might use more water next time I make it.

I tried it today, it kept breaking appart on me, I bet if we mixed an egg white in there it would hold together nicely and could throw on the bbq. I used basil, onion powder and garlic powder, because it doesnt really have a taste lol...also ketchup after it was cooked. Guess its nice for a change, might be nice with turnip fries.

I can only purchase by the box, so I was worried to buy this...might wait a while. See if any of you come up with amazing recipes before I take that plunge!

So I bought a packet today. My coach recommended cooking it like ground beef (crumble it). He said after it's cooked, mix it with a packet of the bbq crunchy things then split it in half (since that would be two servings). He said he's had people put that on their salad for a "taco salad", so I'm going to try this.

So... how do I cook it this way? Just mix in the water and pour into a skillet and it's going to cook up crumbly if I stir it like I would ground beef?

Locks: Ooooo good idea, I'm sure adding an egg white would help it.

Hmmm making taco salad with it actually sounds like a good idea... might have to try that. :) It has a spicy flavor to it - and I don't mean a "hot" spicy, just... lots-of-spices spicy, so I think it would make a good ground meat for a taco salad.

I've only had it once, as a patty, but if you're going to cook and stir it like ground beef, I'd recommend adding a little sauce of some kind, like WF bbq sauce, to it while it's cooking. It's a little dry, in my opinion.

Hi wyoangel...since this is a new product is there any chance you would post the nutritional values and ingredients listed on the box?. Curious how it compares to veggie burgers. There is no rush just when and if you find the time. Thanks bunches.

Anyone know if these are restricted?

They're not. The net carbs are comparible to the chocolate drink mix, so they're at the higher end of non-restricted.
