That would be for the whole day. 1-2 at lunch and 1-2 at dinner. I use 1 at lunch and 1 at dinner. But some people find they need more to keep losing. Some days I might have 1.5 at dinner.

I double checked with IP and 2 tsp. is the max for the first phase. It's 1-2 teasponsfuls per DAY not meal. Not much, but if you want to lose the weight it's necessary. I was on another plan too that limited oil to 2 tsp. per day max.

Sheet says 1-2. Some folks on the forum have said that their coaches allow up to 4, depending on individual circumstances. My coach said 1-2, and that she finds if people aren't losing, most of the time it's because they misread the sheet and are having too much oil.

Yea, I can see that happening. 4 tsp. is a lot of oil! 1-2 is what they recommend for weight loss. I do use the non-stick Olive Oil and Pam Sprays and I can't believe it's not butter, but the real oil I limit.

I have been on Idea Protein for 2 months and have lost 25 lbs. :) I had been working on losting weight by myself and only lost 10 lbs in 2 1/2 months. This diet is great. I find it very easy to follow and my doctor is cutting my blood pressure meds in 1/2.

With the new WW points system, you roughly divide the amount of calories by 40. Of course there are exceptions but it is 90% of the time correct.

i've done many diets over the years, but WW was never one I was interested...mostly because it was too 'open'.

Like, I could eat ice cream or cake the entire day, as long as it fell within the allotted points. ...Doesn't make sense, ya know?

I did LA Weightloss for a while and I really liked it...Lost over 30lbs. Unfortunately, once I stopped the program, I stopped maintaining my weight.

I feel like IP will be different :)

Did WW for years, never reached my goal, I would go 3-4 weeks and be the same weight, I was working out, sticking with my points religiously but never lost the desired weight.

Hopefully IP will be different. I have never been in the 130's, the lowest I ever weighed was 140 exact for about a day lol.

WW is great if you have lots of weight to lose, you will lose the bulk of it initially but once you're closer to goal it's almost impossible to get there on that program.

My cousin was on WW while I was on IP he would lose 1-2lbs a month....I got him to switch to IP while he was doing WW. His first week he loss 7lbs, second week 5, third week 4, fourth weeks 5. They wanted to know what he was doing at WW cuz the weight was just falling off of him. He never told them he just said he was sticking to the program 100%. He has now lost 45lbs in IP in 3 months and is very glad he switched :)

I will chime in here because I have done both WW and IP and I am currently maintaining after successfully following IP.

In the past, I have always gone from "losing" weight to "gaining" weight. There has never been a maintenance. Like the rest of you, I have tried every diet under the sun, and IP has been the only one to have worked. On WW, I would always lose the 1st week, then a lose a little bit on the 2md & 3rd weeks, and after about 4-6 weeks, I was no longer losing despite following the program.

After about 5 attempts at WW, I realized that it just wasn't for me. I also realized that they don't actually teach you about eating healthy. Although I do have to say that I think they are moving more towards that as now fruits & veggies are zero points and foods that are high in carbs are higher in points and protein is less points. Anyway, that is not the point.

Aside from resetting the pancreas, one thing that I think that IP does that is superior to all other diets is it is actually a cleanse or detox (if you will). You literally rid your system of all the bad foods. Your body gets a rest at digesting all of the foods that upset your system that you don't even know are upsetting your system. So by the time you get to Phase 3, the minute you eat something you are intolerant to, believe me, you know it. And I feel like this goes a loooooooooong way into life time eating / maintenance.

A good example of this, I now know that I cannot handle wheat and/or wheat gluten. The reason I was so tired all of the time was not because I was not getting enough sleep, it was because I was constantly putting poison in my body. I would have not found this out if I hadn't done IP because I would have not had a reason to rid my system of it.

Anyway, my point is this. This is the first time I have ever successfully completed a diet and successfully maintained my losses. Maintenance is definitely a work in progress and is a lot of trial and error to find what works FOR YOU. But even through the holiday's I was able to stay under my goal weight despite the way I ate. And if I happened to get above my goal weight, I did a day or 2 in P1 and I was right back down. When has that ever happened before??? NEVER. I never had a plan of action and never knew how to get things back under control to maintain my loss.

Just a little input from someone who has done both. Good luck on IP. It works great.

It costs about $100 PER WEEK to be on IP. I've been on it for 3 weeks and have only lost 4 lbs. I have followed it religiously. At this rate I will have to remortgage my house! Going back to slow and steady and less regimented.

You could try using alternative products to do the protocol. You'll spend $35-50/week with alternatives, depending on what products you buy.
