Thanks for the input, but this particular diet is not a calorie counting diet, there are completely different restrictions on what we can and can't have - unfortunately neither of these things fit the bill.
To the OP, I'm a big fan of NOT making food the focus - I will still be on Phase 1 for my birthday and so I am just celebrating in non-food ways. As I have said in other threads, NOTHING is worth me having to extend my time on the diet by even one day.

It also looked to me like some responses were from non-IP dieters. IP is not just about calories! Be careful to only listen to responses from people on IP.
I'll be on P1 for my birthday (milestone: 50). I really like cheesecake so we may (or may not) have an IP version.
I also really like seafood. At this point, it is almost a no-brainier. Fresh, healthy low-fat seafood or a treat?
I've made it thru many other celebrations & I'll stay 100% OP for this one too. Why would I extend P1 longer or jeopardize my momentum? When I started IP, I figured I'd be on P1 for about 10 months. There really wasn't a "best" time to start. There was bound to be a food event (or many!) in any 10-month period I chose.
Besides, if I'm to keep off the weight, I need to learn to view food and food events differently.
Good luck and happy birthday!
