Hey all

Linden posted this on the other thread and its excellent for veggie counts.

Wed. dinner

Ok, I hope my supper was OP because it was the best thing I've had in a long time. I hope no one is going to burst my bubble and tell me that it has something in it that I'm not allowed during boot camp.
Ingredients:
2 stalks celery
5 portabella small mushrooms sliced thin
1/2 green pepper cut into 1" pieces
2 cloves garlic minced
1 t. fresh ginger root minced
1 small chicken breast grilled last night and cut ito 1/2" pieces.
1 shake red pepper flakes
1 tea EVOO.

I sauteed the veggies in the touch of olive oil, the veggies sweated some liquid out and softened.
When done, I added the chicken till it was warmed through and then put a tea of soy sauce.
It was so awesome! Spicy because of the garlic and ginger and red pepper.

OK, let me have it!
Mary

I'm not sure but did you have 2 cups of veggies.

I'm sure I did, it was a HUGE bowl of food.
I don't know what I was thinking. I'm heading to Oklahoma City for a two day conference tomorrow. I guess I'll be saving money by taking packets instead of heading to Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. Damn.

Hello all I am going to join you in your bootcamp regime starting tomorrow I only lost 2lbs this week which I am NOT happy about so time to kick some butt and see what happens next week! I was super choked today as for the second week in a row my clinic was out of crispy cereal and cappucino drink! which seriously chokes me because I am not a fan of a lot of IP food and those are two things that I actually like!! arrggg so we shall see how this week goes without my two fav non restricted foods.

Also 4meandbrandon how was the cereal hamburger haha?

showgirlaz 03-02-2011 09:26 PM

I know I can't do boot camp with you guys; wish I could. I am choosing to exercise and for now have to do another IP protocol.

Anyway, I was thinking, if you end up with many people, posting all that you eat as separate entries may cause you to max out the number of posts allowed per thread.

here is a weekly food journal we used in past threads. The way it would work is you make one food entries post a week and each day, edit that post with your foods. Then it give you more room in this thread of boot camp chat and support if you wanted it.

I am in no way trying to direct what you would do. Just offering a suggestion if you wanted to maintain more chat space in the thread each week.

Good luck to you all!! BOOT CAMP IS AMAZING and the results are unbelievable!

Carla

If you choose to do this too, here is the format to copy and paste into a new post. Every day, edit your post to complete the day of the week. The idea is to keep things for one person, in one post, for one week.

The weight, water, and exercise are optional areas to complete if you feel it will help you out.

YOU ARE LIKELY NOT TO HAVE EXERCISE BESIDES WALKING (easy pace). HOWEVER, if you do find you have done something of exercise or more strenuous nature, note it, it will help you pin point why a week may be slower or "stalled" compared to another.

Trust me. I need all the help I can get. Please stop in frequently and critique (at least me) at anytime. I respect experience and knowledge. I was going to do a weekly thread but your idea sound great. Jusr need to see if I can figure the editing part out. Just getting the quoting part down.

:)

Editing is easy. Once you make your post, if you go back to a "read" thread mode, you will be able to see your post. Look at the lower right side of your post. It will show an edit button. Click that, scroll through what you wrote, make corrections or, in the case of a running post, just add in new details.

the nice thing about seeing each persons food diary in one post for the week, it lets you make adjustments and help each other out if you see too many of the same veggies that are high carb when cooked.

You all have a great little support system going!

Just fixed mine and we are all set. I think to if we keep this thread just for bootcamp and posting our food logs it would be helpful. I see people posting questions and recipes on this thread and they should be put else where in the IP forum not on the bootcamp thread. Just a thought....

4meandbrandon 03-03-2011 07:37 AM

Yeah. I was thinking that we could start a new thread next week and we can all put our food logs on the first page. Then after the first day; we can comment/question knowing that our food journals will be on pages 1-2.

I would suggest just keeping everything here because the protocol is different and questions comments on the daily thread may confuse newbies because normally having a tomato or some soy puffs would be okay. But those who may want to do the bootcamp may not do it every week. I don't know but I will go the majority opinion.

Beachbella 03-03-2011 12:46 PM

Adrean 03-04-2011 06:23 PM

gah I miss my apple puffs! I will survive but this is harder I really look forward to that restricted packet...ooohh well! Today I did pretty good despite being in court for most of the day (not something I did I'm a social worker part of my job lol) I had no where to put my lunch so I bought a chefs salad from the cafeteria it was pretty good actually lots of veggies a hard boiled egg and some deli meat (I know salt!) but it did the trick :)

4meandbrandon 03-05-2011 04:56 AM

I feel your pain. But this is exactly what I needed and the scales have already moved 3.5 lbs. I rink I will do this 1 or 2 times per month to shake thingd up. hope everyone is doing well and we just have a few days left.

adrran. That's good that you were able to keep going and make great choices and a difficult situation. You made the best choices and it will pay off.

Hey Teresa, are you weighing every day? I AM and I HAVE to. It keeps me on track, I don't care what the others say. Since we've started this week's boot camp, my scale says I'm down 4.5! I hoping the dr.'s scale matches mine! But I am happy to say I am in the 180's. just barely, but WTH, I'm staying in them for a couple of weeks.

I am definately doing boot camp next week too. How about you? Not eating restricted insn't that tough and it's definately worth it! Join me?

showgirlaz 03-05-2011 12:52 PM

I will join you all for boot camp beginning this sunday... if that works for everyone!

I injured my knee and am out for exercising for awhile. That said, it is a good time to go back to phase 1 hard core... boot camp, here I come!

Adrean 03-05-2011 03:39 PM

Alright so wish me luck people I am off to my friend's birthday celebration and we are going to a greek restaurant and I couldn't find anything about it online so I am going in blind. Hopefully I am able to tailor something to fit my needs! otherwise I will resort to a good old fashioned salad...booorrriiinnng!

4meandbrandon 03-05-2011 05:28 PM

Hey Adrean

I use my EVO to msg and it is constantly spell checking wrong. Sorry for the many typos. I hope everything works for you tonight. I had a last minute Olive Garden dinner last night but was able to have the steak and steamed- only broccoli and the house salad and picked out what I couldn't eat. Yeah I will probably do it again next week and it helps keep me OP. I was hoping no one would ask nut YES I do weigh daily even though I'm frustrated everyday but then I realize that the numbers are always lowering.

Carlas,

Great to have you exercise or not. We love the support and experience. I just kept shaking things up so much that Ididnt know what was working or not and then I kept making excuses. Best for me right now to bootcamp until Im solid. Sorry about your injury because I know you wanted to start working out with IP for athletes.

how did your conference go? Welcome back. I was thinking just to start the new thread tomorrow since what Carla sent started on Sunday to cut down the confusion. Or would that be confusing:dizzy:

The conference was good, thanks for asking, OKC is always a great place to visit. Sooo much to do there!
I think we may have the same problem every week of people starting on different days. plus we all wi on different days. It really doesnt matter to me when we start, it's not like it's that hard to keep track of all of our food since we don't eat that much! It is nice to see what others are having for their meals. Now that we know what we're doing it will be easier to arrange it I'm sure.

I am so glad that Carla is joining us, I think it's important to do the Boot Camp, it really feels like it is speeding up the weight loss. If we're going to start again tomorrow, I think we should put out another invite in the other thread to see how many want to join us for this week.
I don't have a problem with people posting their favorite recipes if they are pure non-restrictive recipes. It's fun to try them out to get new ideas! I know some people think we should use the recipe thread, but that is so jam packed with recipes that we just can't eat doing boot camp. What do you think? I hate to start another thread, it gets to be too much.
How has this week been for you?
Mary

4meandbrandon 03-05-2011 09:44 PM

Sounds good. I will start another and hopefully get everyone to post the food logs on the first page and Monday we can start commenting. We can both spread the word.

Adrean 03-05-2011 09:48 PM

Just got back from dinner (well actually lunch but I slept waaay in today so it was actually my second meal of the day lol) I did pretty good I had a greek salad and ate mostly the cucumbers and green peppers I also ate chicken slouvaki....I have no idea what they put on the chicken or the greek dressing...hopefully I didn't screw things up too bad!

Let us know what you think about starting the new week of boot camp tomorrow. You are going to do it again, right??????

I looked up what is usually put on chicken soulvaki and it seems IP friendly! and greek dressing should be pretty good maybe a few carbs but shouldn't be a huge deal.
I am going to keep going on bootcamp till Wednesday which is WI day. I probably won't do it the next "week" I will likely do it every second week

Second week on diet, doing pretty good (my problem is eating all the packets) - but terrible constipation. Tried drinking more water. Help!:?::?::?:
