Good morning friends! I just wanted to thank everyone who answered my numbers question yesterday. Your wonderful thoughts and advice really put things in perspective for me. Instead of feeling uncomfortable when asked, I am going to smile and say I have lost more than I ever dreamed possible.

.

locks 02-25-2011 07:10 AM

I dont tell everyone willbe, I am to ashamed for them to calculate how much I must have weighed and how I let myself get like that. So I try to be positive and say oh, a little bit, then they ask me what did I do, I say I joined a gym and started to eat more healthy, thats about it.

They always say, way to go, I need to do that too, then they feel guilty and start thinking that they should change things too in their life, so then I am off the topic of interest lol.

Coastalcrafter 02-25-2011 07:58 AM

Good morning!

juiceman11 02-25-2011 08:16 AM

CBG 02-25-2011 08:53 AM

Morning everyone. Have a terrific OP weekend. We need a change in the weather in Alberta and for more than one day. Saturday is supposed to be nice and then back into the deep freeze....brrrrrr!

jupiter 02-25-2011 08:53 AM

Can't believe it is Friday already!!! Colder then cold here -32 C, that is without the windchill!

Yay to all the NSV and weight losses this week. Everyone is doing a great job of keeping on track or getting back on track. Even though i don't post much, I am reading everyday. Lots of good advise and encouragement from everyone. Thank you.

First week WI on phase 2 was a loss of 3 pounds. I have lowered my goal weight in anticipation of the gain back of 3-5 lbs when I move into the other phases. On to week 2!!!

Have a great day everyone.

EgadsMe 02-25-2011 08:58 AM

Good Morning All~ Happy Friday! Cheers to all the NSV and SV happening today and throughout the weekend! Wishing everyone great success today!

Joliebug82 02-25-2011 09:59 AM

Morning, ya'll! Had a couple pieces of thin-cut fried bass last night, and while I wish I didn't, I'm not going to stress about it. I know it didn't throw me out of ketosis, but it made me feel so sick from the grease.

So, today I'm going with the vanilla pudding/coffee drink that I adore, tomato soup that I spice up to suit my cajun palate, asparagus, kale chips, a blueberry-pom drink, and I'm thinking a small, delicious steak for dinner with grilled peppers, green onions, zucchini, and tomatoes. Mmm.

OMG YES! And my hormones...well, I can go from one extreme to the next. I swear, it's as bad as being pregnant. And PMS. Awful. And I absolutely know I'm not pregnant!

Not directed at Newbies because there are so many questions at the beginning.....but I feel that after time, it's so easy to rationalize why we can eat something not on protocol. But, we basically are just sabotaging ourselves. Then we wait a week for our body to get back on protocol and start losing again. Wastes time and money. I know.....easier said than done. I'm learning this lesson now.

Well said. I just finished learning it. I hope it got through my thick skull, though.

Great advice! I don't mind telling people how much I've lost, but won't share what I still have to go. I really like the advice to say "Yeah. Lookin' good, right?" LMAO!

When you need new clothes, buy new clothes. I feel so much better about myself when I'm not wearing something too big! Plus, it keeps me on track.

mamarix1 02-25-2011 10:00 AM

New purple water bottle!

Funny how little things can make such a big difference. I found a purple insulated mug that holds 34 oz. at the hardware store, it is even shaped right to fit into the cup holder of my prius. I'm planning on my right arm becoming buff from lifting it throughout the day. One big bulging muscle!

mamarix1 02-25-2011 10:06 AM

To buy or not to buy

I am all for getting clothes that fit. Clothes that are too big are sloppy and you need to feel great! I am getting my clothes at the consignment store. I know this size will only be temporary so after I grow out of them I either give them to someone else, or give them to the goodwill.
I'm not buying new until I get to 150 then I'm heading to Dallas and going on a shopping spree. :encore:
I'm going to start a fund. Each pound lost must be worth something. HOW MUCH?

Thank you!! I ordered 6 more boxes of IP stuff! I set a $ limit on products I would buy and I am there now, so I better stick to the protocol and "git r dun" (as Juiceman would say) because I am not spending any more money on IP products. I am going to try the caramel bar - yummy - can't wait!!

Good luck on your weigh in!!!

:) WELLL.... in my case, each pound cost me, $33.33 real US dollars. It was worth far more to me in terms of increased activity, no prescription or OTC meds, and no future obesity related dr bills.

I guess I haven't had any medical issues, so I am looking at this in terms of new clothes. (How selfish of me!) Sorry I haven't been more sympathetic to other's issues.

Hi Everyone!!

I know (have heard) several people have been asking about me. I know I haven't been around much this past month and have been fairly weak in forum activity since early December. I am truly sorry. I have had many things going on personally which are keeping me very busy, somewhat stressed, and often away from my computer until I am too tired to see straight (reading becomes difficult at that point! ;) ) I have tried to respond to anyone who sends me a PM.

Thank you to all of you who are keeping an eye out for me and caring about where and how I am.

I will try to be more diligent in checking in at least once a week.

Well, today is another full day. I have been up for 3 hours already. I've walked dogs, done some laundry, taken care of breakfast, called contractors and service workers for some of our properties, checked on my grandparents (they are 94 and 95 and still live independently but need an occasional hand), took care of some business, and am now planning my mid day activities. I have the gym ahead of me for pilates and kinesis (don't know how I would manage stress without that outlet). I have to pick up a car from the body shop, finally repaired from hail damage, and meet with painters. Later tonight, I have the pleasure of meet my dad at the airport as he makes a quick trip home. Somewhere in all that craziness I get some wonderful time with an amazing friend of mine.

I am also starting to use the IP athletic protocol I just got. HOPEFULLY, it will offer enough for me to be able to do my exercise, maintain my sanity, and get back to eating in a way that makes me feel better. OH, and if I can lose some weight again, that'd be nice too! :))

So, I hope everyone has a great day. I will try to check in again a few more times through this weekend.

ErinO 02-25-2011 11:06 AM

Morning Ladies and Gents.... gosh I feel like this is rude of me to brag about my weigh in - but I guess that is PART of the reason we are all doing this right - so... drum roll please.... week 1 - down 6.4 lbs and 4 inches ;)

You HAVE to brag! :carrot: That's what this is for, right? We have a lot of goals in common. I look forward to watching how you make out over the next weeks.

I have WI#2 in a couple hours (rescheduled due to snow yesterday). Wish me luck! I'd be happy with 1/2 of what ErinO posted!

i like this idea...$5-$10 per pound should get you a few new outfits, depending on your total goal weightloss. i still have pre-baby clothes that i hope to fit into one day, but new clothes, new haircut, etc will brighten your day!

:o awwww  Thanks!! The athletic protocol is quite a bit more specific. You are told exactly what packets to have. Fortunately, they are ones I like. You get about 2x as much protein. Lunch and dinner are fairly similar to what phase 1 looks like.

It is designed for people who are exercising A LOT... IP considers athletes people who are exercising about 5 hours a day.

I am exercising at least 2.5 to 3 hours a day for 4 days a week and almost 5 hours 2 days a week. I also have hypoglycemia as a history. It seems that when I exercise I immediately have a blood sugar drop and cravings through the rough. Trying the alternate phase 1 only made matters worse for me. I need the exercise to manage anxiety so, I am attempting the athletic protocol to see if I can at least get away from the carbs again (reintroduced in the alternate protocol which was a BAD move for me. I fell way off plan do to irregular blood sugar and cravings.)

I will let you know how it goes!

Hope to see you around more.

I will share it. I have to scan it in first then, I can post in Phases. I will make a note on the post pointing out that IP considers it for those that are regularly exercising about 5hours a day just so people don't think it is for anyone or people who are only burning an added 500 cal a day do to a zumba or spin class. :)

Thank you for your welcome back!

mepeterson 02-25-2011 12:04 PM

Congrats ErinO on your great Loss

Welcome Back showgirlaz!! we miss you!

Hey everyone I hope you all have an amazing day and weekend. Still cold here but I am planning my trip to Disney World so in my mind it is warm. Ha Ha. I feel good today, have lots of engergy and my clothes feel loose again. I want to give Dr. Tran a great big KISS for this diet. It is changing our lives and making us more healthy. I am totally excited to see what I will look like as a thinner me.
I have gone back and forth about a possible scheduled "cheat" day for my birthday on the 14th of March. I have decided against it because I want to be able to loose as much as possible before my trip. I plan on starting my phase off the 2nd week of May in order to be done completly before my trip in June. I do not know or care if I will be at my goal weight by then but what I do know is that I will not be as heavy as I am now, and that is all that matters. I am going to do my best to stay on track from now until then.

Marking the Life Milestones

hi all!

has anyone else been feeling urges to somehow mark the weightloss milestone in their life when you hit goal?

like a new tatoo, drasticly different hair cut, job change, completing a "bucket list" item or something significant like that?

i'm not all the way there yet, but find i'm having an internal yearning to do "something".

comments please... and if yes, please what the action is why the action is significant to you.

have a great day everyone! and welcome back carla!

ontariophotogal 02-25-2011 12:31 PM

Morning everyone! We woke up to the dreaded snow they were warning us about so I've had to re-schedule my first WI. I went into panic mode thinking, wow, now what do I do as I only had 1 packet left. Messaged my coach who pointed out that technically I have 2 because when I was having a lot of trouble a few days ago, she had given me 1 restricted packet that I was only to use if ABSOLUTELY necessary. When she gave it to me she said she'd rather me use that than "cheat" and give up altogether. So she recommended I have 2 eggs for breakfast, the restricted for lunch, my one packet for dinner and the 1 non restricted I have left for snack. Makes sense to me, I just hope it doesn't cause any havoc with my weigh in tomorrow now :( What do you all think? Being on week 1 (actually week 2 now), I'm not supposed to have restricteds at all...
Anyway, I did my own WI this morning and I'm pretty sure my scale is very close to the one at the studio I go to for WI and according to that, I'm down
11 lbs. the first week :) While I'd like to be thrilled about it, I'm really curious as to what today's adjusted program will do to me for tomorrow's official weigh in...Am I worrying too much?
Anyway, congrats to all on your successes this week. And thanks so much again for your compliments, emails and adds to facebook regarding my photography work. In case anyone else is curious, here's what keeps me super happy in this life (besides my family) www.stacyscreationsphotography.com
Have a great Friday!

Yes!! I'm getting my nose re-pierced. I had it pierced forever and took it out for a sales job. The stud I wear is so tiny that it's barely noticeable but I love it. Who cares if I'll be a 30 year old mom with a nose ring. It'll be a huge reminder daily of how hard I worked to lose over 70 lbs.

AmyonIP 02-25-2011 12:46 PM

Ontariophotogal some coaches say to have a restricted a day from day 1. Others say not for a few weeks. It shouldn't throw you off for just 1 day. If you want to save your restricted, have a meat protein for lunch AND dinner. Many different ways to mix it up. Don't worry about it, you're doing great and a restricted isn't bad in the 2nd week. It could be WAY worse. ;)

Hey ontariogal!! Spent an hour looking at your wonderful pics. They are absolutely stunning. Really wish you were closer. Is Kansas to far? lol. Don't worry about the weigh in. You are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Let us know. :smug:

Don't panic! according the the new protocol you are allowed to have one restricted packet a day even when you first start. I have had one a day from the beginning and I have had good losses every week. I don't know why coaches are still telling people that you can't have them. According to my coach they have found that it hasn't effected weight loss and helps with not feeling so crappy those first few weeks. I would really not be concerned at all :p

Carla glad you had a chance to pop in here.

Yesterday I had my WI. I was only down .6 pounds but that put me at exactly 61 pounds lost, but its also TOM.
My coach told me that I was the most drastic case as far as before/after success! WOW, I couldn't believe that! ME??? So she wanted me to do a testimony of IP and put it in the newsletter with pics.
Have a great weekend all! As my son said, "There's frosting on the roof, but no snow" :D

has anyone else been feeling urges to somehow mark the weightloss milestone in their life when you hit goal?

like a new tatoo, drasticly different hair cut, job change, completing a "bucket list" item or something significant like that?

i'm not all the way there yet, but find i'm having an internal yearning to do "something".

comments please... and if yes, please what the action is why the action is significant to you.

have a great day everyone! and welcome back carla!

hi rondar! i'm not sure yet, but i was thinking about cutting all of my hair off. i have really long hair that goes to the small of my back. i've had it this way for the last 6 years. i was thinking that if losing weight is going to give me a different body, why not completely change my hair so that i look almost unrecognizable? i think it would be fun. i like to think about running into people that i haven't seen in a year (after the weight is lost and the hair is gone) and them not even knowing it was me. to me, that seems like the ultimate reward... if that makes sense.

I have been thinking about this alot! When we got the referral for our first child (adopted from China), I got a tatoo. Have been thinking about doing something dramatic with my hair - new color and style but not sure at what weight. Also thinking about going back to contacts. Wore them for 20 years but haven't had them for the last 10.
I did tell my husband that I want a warm island vacation when I have lost all the weight I want to lose. Have always wanted to go to Figi. :beach:
