Nicotine Gum while on IP???

Has anyone done the IP diet while chewing nicotine gum? Does it affect the results? It contains sugar alcohol (xylitol) which I don't think is allowed. I'm currently chewing 10+ pieces of Nicotine Gum every day (and I don't want to give it up). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sugarless Gum on IP??

so no responses about the nicotine gum... what about sugarless gum? It has the same sugar alcohol as nicotine gum, so the effects would probably be the same. I'm starting the diet tomorrow (yikes!) and I may need to find a replacement for the gum (maybe the patch or something). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!

Do you have the packaging available to give the nutritional information? I think there is probably about one carb per piece meaning you're getting about 10 carbs from gum currently, which is a lot when you consider that we're recommended to stay somewhere between 25-40 (I believe?).

They don't have the Nutrition Facts info on the box (I guess cuz it's considered a medicine and not a food?), but I found a pkg of Trident and compared the ingredients. Trident has Sorbitol, Xylitol, and Mannitol all listed within the top 5 ingredients. Nicorette has Xylitol listed as the LAST ingredient. So I'm guessing (hoping :-) there's a lot less of the sugar alcohol in the nicotine gum, which also hopefully means less carbs. I guess I'll keep chewing it and see what happens. If I don't lose weight, then I'll switch to the patch. THANK YOU!!! FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Wish me luck on the diet - I actually weighed in at 182 lbs instead of 175 so I've been gaining!! I'm really nervous about starting but this forum has really helped with all my anxiety!! Thanks again!

I'm sorry. I don't have any useful information. But if you'll take a little encouragement, it's all yours. I like and admire brave people and I think you've bot a smidgen of both ingredients in your system. I also think this the best possible way to combine to health-generating programs. If you're going to be miserable for a short period of time, why do it twice? Sensible. Please succeed. It would be so encouraging for others.
