BIG D, need advice..

I have been trying Eas Vanilla and choclate and now Premier Protein shakes and I get very noisy stomach and big D...anyone else in same situation ? Could it be because the Whey protein???? I usually can eat anything and no problem, I mean anything so I have not been allergic to any food...too bad that this happens, it would be so easy to crab shake when you are in hurry.

Thanks a lot ! Could it be the reason for me?? My daughter is lactose intolerant, I never before have been and I'm 60. I have been on IP 5 months and got that problem starting before Christmas and it's only with shakes. I was first thinking multivitamin, magnesium etc and check those at first leaving one by one and finally I'm down only with the shakes and right after drinking one the noise in my stomach begins and in one hour all even water comes out :( it last all day...Thanks for the help  And I still have not been able to lose weight in couple weeks:?:

I know when I was on a high protein diet several years ago (I mean about 2x the protein of IP) the high amounts of protein did cause the big D with several of us. Possibly too much protein.....your body's natural reaction to the "commercialized" protein or something else, but your issue isn't unheard of. I would suggest substituting the whey's with natural lean protein (Chicken, Fish, etc.) for a day or two to see if that corrects the problems. Careful, however because higher protein diets loaded with lean meats and fish are known to cause constipation. If it does correct the issue, maybe you can design a marriage of the two types of protein to better suit your schedule/plan.

There was someone on the weekend chat who was having the same reaction to those shakes.. Unless that WAS you?

The Premier shakes have 30 grams of protein in them and they only suggest you have 1 a day, so if you are supplementing and having 3 or so for the IP protocol, you will be very "plugged up" I would suggest cutting back on the shakes and getting a stool softener.

I have been taking just occasionally , not even daily, for coffee creamer and counting towards my daily intake. Problem is that I might be allergic to Whey protein...and that's why I get D, very bad one No need for stoolsoftener really :)))
