Welcome to IP! You have posted so you did it right. Everyone loses weight differently but week 1 is always the highest for a loss. Some people will hold for a few days then drop 2lbs in a day. There may be a week or two where you lose nothing and then there will be most where you lose between 1-4lbs. Don't stress. As long as you are following protocal you will lose weight. Don't look at your weight loss daily, but rather by your weekly weigh-ins. A lot of people put away their home scales and rely only on their coach's scale to help alleviate the stress.

Hello All,

I am new to IP, I go for my two week WI today. I have been on EVERY diet over the last 2 decades. I want and need this to be my last diet. I am a 6 year breast cancer survivor(diagnosed at 44) and being a normal weight and healthy will decrease the chance of recurrence.

I am enjoying the support in this forum. Thanksto all who take the time to post.

Well, TOM showed up at my house this morning - I'm wondering if that is what is a little responsible for my disappointing loss last week and crazy cravings this weekend... Everyone talks about how IP messes with their cycle, but mine seems to be getting more regular! Grrrr..... Oh well.

I'm working 3-11 today instead of my normal 7-3 and while I hate being off my normal routine, it's kind of nice being here with you all and my coffee this morning! Yay for sleeping in!

Well made it thru my first weekend on plan. Friday night i had a total emotional breakdown cause my bf and daughter ordered pizza for dinner. i waited till they were done eating to go in the kitchen and make my dinner. but it was right in my face and he was being insensitive about me just not wanting to even see it let alone having to smell it! well needless to say, it ended up in the fridge in the garage after my outburst. i think maybe he is starting to get it now. then saturday was a breeze cause i was so busy! running around made me seem super full too. I didn't get my 3rd packet in cause i didn't even eat dinner till 9:30. Figured it was ok for one day. Then yesterday was ok too although stayed in and just vegged out cause of the snow. I had a crazy experience with the cappucino drink that night though! i way over microwaved it...to the point of it boiling over out of the cup and it became COAGULATED!! it was soooo GROSS!!! but i made myself choke down like 3/4 of it. brought another one today so it will be the deciding factor on wether or not i can warm it up right and have it be good.

This morning i threw up. totally just water and some tea that i had drank cause i hadn't eaten my morning packet yet. only been at work an hour. Has anyone else experienced getting sick first thing in the morning if you drink caffeinated tea on an empty stomach. i haven't even taken any supplements yet. I have managed to eat my first packet now and am feeling better. i guess the day will tell if it is the flu or some weird fluke with not eating as much now...day 7 i would think i would be over any flukiness. I haven't even had headaches which i had pretty much prepared myself for the acceptance of that because of how much sugar i eat normally on a daily basis.
Well anyway....first WI will be tonight!!!! I hope i lose at least 5 pounds!!! trying not to set myself up for disappointment but come on it's the first week! that's supposed to be the biggest loss after all! :crossed:
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE TODAY STAYING FOCUSED AND OPTOMISTIC!!! :goodluck:

Yes we can!

Thanks for the inspiration and support. It's nice to have company. It's not that I have been horrible or anything but lately sticking to protocol 100% has been tough work. Snippets of fresh fruit, nuts and cheese have been calling my name and quite loudly I might add. So far, so good today but then it isn't even 10 a.m. here but we can do this. Good luck to a great start for you too!:carrot:

NSV - Blood tests ...

2009:

Total Cholesterol 228 (optimal < 200)
HDL 50, 40 <optimal < 93)
LDL: 145 , optimal < 130
triglycerides 123, optimal < 150

Ratios:
Total:HDL 4.38, optimal <5
LDL:HDL 2.89, optimal <4.3
Trigylcerides:HDL 1.07, optimal <2.0

Dec. 2010

Total Cholesterol 184(optimal < 200) :carrot:
HDL: 53, 40 <optimal < 93)
LDL: 96, optimal < 130 :broc:
triglycerides: 51, optimal < 150

Ratios:
Total:HDL 3.5, optimal <5
LDL:HDL 2.27, optimal <4.3
Trigylcerides:HDL 0.97, optimal <2.0
I'm absolutely thrilled especially with the triglycerides. From all I've read, tri's and very small LDL (often indicated by high tri's) are the strongest indicators of cardiovascular health/risk. Now to take on raising the HDL with more exercise and continued maintenance eating!

Hooray for lower carb eating & 3 cheers to IP for making it simple!

Congratulations -- I know the feeling and I cannot wait to be where you are - I haven't been under 200 in at least 6 years (it seems my body likes to hover at that weight so I cannot wait (all pun intended) to see if IP actually helps me get past that point)

WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I have not had the vomit thing - I can sympathize with the emotional thing - for me this is more then a weight loss issue and I sometimes get frustrated that I cannot eat like everyone else - especially when I see people who consume every bit of junk in front of them and not gain 1 pound or even 1 oz and knowing if I ate even half as bad as they did I would gain 10 pounds (no joke I have done it)-- Changing up the diet and mindset is a big deal and all at once can be a bit overwhelming.

As for the cappuccino drink I find it much better iced like a frappuccino - make the drink with a little less water, add 2 shots of esspresso (or a cup of really strong coffee or espresso powder -- like instant espresso), a bunch of ice and blend -- you could even add some of the sugar free syrups to it before blending - it is much better, in my humble opinion, cold then hot -if I want something hot I go for decaf chai tea. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better

Congrats, this is great news for you!!!

I had blood taken last week, so I'm anxiously waiting for my results. I did go out and buy a blood pressure monitor kit for home. The Dr. cut my blood pressure meds in half and he wants me to monitor it. So far so good with that and I hope to be off of the meds within 30 days. Hopefully the blood test results will also show that I can get off of the thyroid meds. I have a hypothyroid, but I honestly don't know if the meds help me or not. We'll see when the results come back.

You are almost to your goal. I know you will make it no matter what is going on in your life. I assume you will be visiting your daughter in Hawaii, if so, think about how you want to look when you are sunning on Waikki. It is rough when our children and grand children live far away. Stay strong. Judy

Sorry for the rough weekend. Your daughter had a great weekend to sunbathe. It is cool and windy this morning, but still not cold by east coast standards. You have done so well on this way of eating that you will soon be to goal and then some of the things you want will be available.
