Default Instead of half-n-half??

Ok, so I just finished day 4. And all is well. Oddly, the things I really miss are not cake & chocolate- instead i crave pretzels, popcorn, and half-n-half in my coffee! But i will gladly do w/o because, on the bright side, I am not beating myself up every night thinking about how I failed myself all day with ridiculous eating!

Anyway.... To the point. Has anyone found a great alternative to skim milk in coffee? Skim milk is not working for me. I'll suffer through if i must but thought maybe there is an alternative out there that I have yet to hear of?!?!? I tried a small amount of the IP vanilla drink but it did not mix well.

Suggestions?

An EAS vanilla drink might work. I know some people use the unsweetened almond milk instead of milk. It is very low cal and low carb.

Evaporated skim milk (from a can). At least it's pretty thick.

I use half and half, it's lower in sugar and carbs then milk but a little higher in fat. It hasn't slowed my weight loss but I do limit the amount I have each day.

I use some of the ready made vanilla drink. One of those little boxes lasts me 4 days. I LOVE IT! It tastes like a vanilla latte from starbucks. I think I would rather use that forever instead of going back to milk when i can. too bad it's so expensive.

I also use the IP vanilla drink. I make a latte with my own espresso.

This has 14.4 gr carbs/cup so I hope you aren't drinking more than an ounce? I don't want to sound like the carb cop. Just hope you all realize the possible impact.

The other thing about the coffee mate is that it is just oil. Coffee mate is non-dairy - you'd be better off just having a little bit of half & half if you must!

2 Tbs (1 oz) of half & half has 3 gms of fat, 40 cal & 1 carb. Have the half & half! At least it's a natural product... That's what I have been doing, though my coach told me that she ordered the vanilla RTDs, so I'm excited to try that in my coffee instead of the half & half. (It should be noted that I generally don't have coffee every day.)

What happened when you added it? How did it not mix well? I'm just curious because my coach just ordered it and I was going to get some on Friday to try in my coffee.

I'm guessing go4parr used the powder drink? I've used the rtd vanilla in my coffee. I found it to be thin and not very flavourful. Maybe I expected too much...I used to drink French vanilla creamer (International Delight) in my coffee. Now I use skim milk with Starbucks' sugar-free syrup.

I either use a large portion of a vanilla RTD (like split a whole portion in 2 cups of coffee--pour in then warm a bit in the microwave or put over ice) OR
I use HOOD 2%milk beverage which is a low carb milk.

1 cup =
Fat 5g
Carb 3g
Sugar 3g
Protein 8g

so, one ounce is less than .5 carb grams, and it tastes just like milk to me.
You can get it at walmart or lots of other vendors in the US. I buy it at Fred Meyer (west coast chain)

I use 1-2 Tbl of whipping cream, 50 cal, 0,0,0 twice a week when I make my americano on the weekend. I'm not concerned much about the fat, it's such a low qty and my body is supposed to be living off fat. During the week, I use a whole container of the vanilla drink, with 3 shots of espresso in the morning. That way I get my coffee and breakfast in one cup on the way to work!

I have been using Silk Creamer in my coffee. Checked with my coach to see if it was ok to do and he said yes.

Silk Creamer Original
1 TBS
15 calories
1 gram fat
10 mg Sodium
1 gram carbs
