Great feeling, isn't it? I give all of my clothes to my sister, too. She get's excited like it is Christmas!

Plus, gotta admit, I love the way I looked in my little, itty bitty running tights and jacket. My physical therapist told me to take it easy for the first couple of weeks, which is going to be hard, but I know in the long run I have to in order to avoid re-injurying myself. Patience and going slow are two things I'm not good at...

Being healthy is just so... perfect.

Have a great day everyone!
Hurrah!!!.. so glad you're off & running again!.. I'll soon be joining you, got my new running shoes yesterday... I'm gonna start off slow, walking & jogging, since it's been about 25 years since I last ran for exercise... today & the rest of the week, I'm just gonna try them out walking & jogging around my yard (it's pretty big), then next week I'll head for the park... can't wait to try out the trails there...

I probably won't be wearing any itty bitty running tights, though!.. bet you look FABULOUS in yours!.. way to go!..

hugs

Just a friendly tip I am passing on, it may help you feel more at ease and not a prisoner of the dreaded scale!
Have a great day everyone.
I am so happy I was given this web site from my IP coach.
I am the opposite....I love the scale. I step on it every morning at the same time (naked). Most days it has gone down between .2 and 1.6 pounds. That keeps me going that day and into the next. Over the last 42 I have been on the diet...about 5 days total it stayed the same and 2 days total it went up. But the next day was good in all cases. So the scale keeps me going. But just once a day.

For the last 10 years I have yo-yo'd between 200 and 230 and it seems that every time I get to 200 something horrible happens in life and I eat my way through the emotions. This time, since I'm on a diet that is so effective, I know I can do it. But I have this mental block about 200lbs. It's stinkin' thinkin'. I know I have more control over my body than the scale does. And if you are all wondering it there is in fact an emotional event that occurred at the same time I hit 200lbs, the answer is, yes. My mom has terminal cancer and she is now at the stage where doctors are just trying to make her comfortable. She is only 56.

So I decided when I started IP last June that I would go to a couselor at the same time because I needed help to get through the 200lb thing. Well, here I am. I've been toying with about 2.5lbs for the last month or so. Down, up, down, up.

In an attempt to make this obsession stop I've made a plan with my IP coach. I will come in every week to measure and weigh in. I will have the chart with my measurements only. She will have the chart with my weight. Only she gets to see the weight. If my weight goes down, she gives a thumbs up. If the weight stays the same or goes up, thumbs down. This way I know I'm on the right track and whether or not I need to make adjustments. I need to get under 200 and through the 190s then I think I can do the rest without obsessing anymore.

Anyone have further thoughts on this or a similar experience?
I am so sorry to hear that your Mom has cancer...many to you and your family.
I think the plan you made with your coach is a good one...don't worry, with IP you WILL GET UNDER 200 and beyond!! Stay on protocol and it will happen

Lettuce is important for roughage, many people have problems with constipation, so you need the extra fiber lettuce provides.

Hopefully it wasn't enough to keep me from getting into ketosis in the next couple of days. So mad at myself. I thought I'd de-carbed my kitchen pretty well over the weekend.

I think I'm going to move my snack to mid-afternoon instead of after dinner. I think maybe if I have something before I leave work it will help keep me in check. I'm also wondering about splitting up my protein serving for the next couple of days. Will do a seperate post on that though.
the first week was tough and I was hungry then too (that is my worst time of day)....but after ketosis kicked in....I really don't get hungry at all during the day. I eat dinner between 4:45 and 5 pm...that helps.

The salad is to keep us full. I only eat it at lunch. I haven't eaten a salad at dinner since day 5 and I am on day 42. I have no room for it at dinner time...too full. Coach says...protein first, veggies second, lettuce last.

I think your plan with your coach sounds great. As I was reading your first paragraph I kept thinking--throw out the scale, and there you go. Just focus on making the right choices right now and eating what you know you should and doing what you need to with your mom. The rest will happen. You know this works, so don't let a number be a stumbling block.

Just don't go to bed hungry, or potentially hungry, OK? By all means have another packet before bed if you need it.

Default Aaarrrrrrg.

My usually agile cat tried to jump up into my lap, kind of missed, and began to embed his claws in my leg. Grabbed for him and knocked over 16 oz of IP pudding/shake. You haven't lived until you try to get butterscotch pudding out of oriental carpet, upholstered dining room chair, and cat. Found cat in my bed.
Well, fortunately, I replaced the old washing machine last Saturday.

Yikes Linden! What a mess to clean up! My fat cat (in my pic) always jumps on my lap at the most inconvenient times. When I want her to come over and I'll pet her, she just turns her head and sighs.
