Side effects
 

Today is week two for me. I am experiencing slight gum bleeding and spots of pigment missing in areas of my skin. Can anyone enlighten me?

I haven't noticed any skin pigmentation issues...but now that you mention it my gums have been inflamed sort of..

The gum issue does exist. It is not listed, at least not where I found it, on Dr Tran's website as a side effect but, when I researched ketosis and gum health or the variety of issues it comes up as a connected issue. It seems the ketosis can cause some people to become very dry mouthed and if they also are more prone to existing gum/dental health issues or higher levels of bacteria, this can cause more likelihood of a person experiencing receding gums, deeper gum pockets, and bleeding. The only suggestions I could find were discuss this and your diet with a dentist, be more vigilant with cleaning your gums and mouth, use a oral rinse/wash, use salt water rinses to strengthen gums, and drink more water.

I personally had my gums recede. I took a "break" of sorts this summer and noticed that they are returning to where they were so, with reasonable oral hygiene the issues may reverse themselves.


I am not sure what the loss of pigment is related to.
