I had to have my snack right after work instead of waiting for after dinner. I feel OK now but can start to feel hunger coming back again and it is only 8:30. Anyone else experience huge hunger after the initial few days?

I am in the middle of week 6 and still have some hungry days. My coach doesn't really allow restricteds for phase 1, so I don't do those and stay very low on my carb count, but somedays I am still starving. So I have an extra packet when I need to. First, I always drink a bunch of extra water to make sure I'm not just low on hydration. I also need to be really careful about my sea salt, because if I don't get enough I feel like I'm going to pass out and be sick etc. Someone on this site gave me permission to have that extra packet because the info I received said no more than three after week 2. But I am very active and I find sometimes I need a little extra. It hasn't affected my weight loss negatively at all, I'm still averaging 4 lbs loss per week. I also found an omelet for breakfast instead of a drink makes a big difference for me, too. Hope this helps along with the great advice everyone else gave so far!

well I decided to actually measure my sea salt instead of just guessing and I've definitely not been getting enough! I just figured 1/2 teaspoon wasn't much at all so I figured I was good without measuring...now I know. I love the sea salt on all my veggies so it won't be hard to increase. And I'll have lettuce every day too. I hope this week is much better.

I am only on Day 5, but I noticed increased hunger last night as I did not have any lettuce with dinner. I definately thinks this makes a differnce for me. I actually prefer Baby Spinach and or Romaine.

Things are improving! Might be because I'm at work again (I find the weekends much harder) or just cause I've tweaked a few things. I just noticed that there is a LowCarbGrocery about 5 minutes from my office so I know where I'll be shopping as the phases progress!!!

Yesterday (Day 14) was really awful for me! I ended up going to bed at 8:30pm I felt so bad!! Trying to determine what I did different as my coach allows restricteds from day 1, so that has not changed. I think some of my veggies had some hidden carbs or I drank too much water the day before and did not compensate with extra salt. I also forgot my evening supplements two nights ago, which was the 2nd multi-vit. and 2 cal-mags. Maybe it was all three of these events??!!

Despite feeling awful yesterday, I got in all my required packets, supplements, salt and oil. Today I am going to have my meat for lunch to see how that affects me. I do feel better already this morning. Now I'm just hoping it lasts all day!

If you've recently joined the forum or started IP, there are some great tips here.

One of things I have done is to have an extra teaspoon of olive oil in the morning. Yup, right off the spoon. It seems to give my breakfast more staying power and takes the edge off being hungry late in the afternoon
