Okay, I truly am up 2lbs this week. I'm really dissappointed in myself, but I need to be honest. This is proof to those who are considering cheating that one small cheat can really set you back, so don't bother testing the waters. I've been really strict since Sunday so I hope to see some positive changes by next Tuesday.
I'm trying not to beat myself up, but stupid mistakes are stupid mistakes. I keep seeing people with a little bit here and a little bit there with no repercussions but for me obviously it isn't the same. I'm going to have a stellar week and then see how my body reacts. |

My brother-in-law started out strong, then went rogue. He's lost 34 pounds and thinks he's awesome, but that was over 3 months. He's a guy... he should have lost twice that. When he doesn't cheat, he drops the weight quickly. But then he drinks, strays from the plan and claims he's following it (really?? hot chocolate???), uses prohibited ingredients liberally when cooking... then he loses nothing or gains, until he goes back on plan. He's pretty much uncoachable these days, because he's seen enough success to think he knows it all. The good part is that he HAS lost, and that he has made some changes in his diet that will likely be long-term, which has to have benefits. But I don't think he'll manage to pull off Phase 3, and his ability to manage his weight in Phase 4 will then be compromised. He has health issues, so it is frustrating for my sister and me, but you can only do so much to save someone from himself! Anyway, hang in and get it done. :D |

My scales said another pound gone this morning and I'm still wearing a size down. Isn't it amazing how color changes how a pair of capris fit?:dizzy: I wore the same size and style in black yesterday, but the tan ones today are a little snug around the middle. It just shows that you can't pin all your hopes on size tags!!:p Anyhoo, I have my 2nd weigh/measure today after work. My husband and I were planning to go to the track this morning, but he had a bad night last night (rolling and tossing and SNORING! :yawn:)) that neither of us slept very well - maybe we can do better tomorrow. Hey guys...I'm new to the site and have been on ip for 2 weeks. I was previously on qwlc and i have alot of their supplements left. Does anyone know if they work with the program? Thanks in advance!!

Probiotics often help both problems. I had a yeast problem a couple of years ago and found high doses of the acidophilus and bifidus really helpful. Have you tried doubling or tripling your Culturelle? Have you looked at "prebiotics" as well? They're essentially the food for the good bacteria. Vitamin C in high doses (think grams not milligrams) causes the opposite problem, the big "D". It's actually a common cold cure suggested by some naturopaths I've seen: Take vitamin C at 1000 mg 3x per day; every day, increase each dose by 1000 mg (or 500 mg) until the big "D" occurs, then scale back. Instead of bran, you might consider psyllium husks. They're much less scratchy on your gut. I picked up a bag of them from a health food store; I can't recall what I paid but it wasn't much. I imagine the US chains of Trader Joes, Whole Foods carry them. Probably small local stores will have psyllium as well. |
