I'm pretty new to program but, I wish I would have been told or reminded about the Novi Cleanse much sooner. I complained of constipation for 3 weeks. Nothing worked like the Novi Cleanse.
Now I'm really confused about the IP bars. I ordered 2 boxes online and they should be here by the end of the week, but it sounds like eating 1 bar a day will hinder my weight loss progress. I want to lose at least 40lbs if not 50lbs. Bummer! I was really looking foward to having an IP bar a day and my IP sheet says it's okay to have 1 restricted food a day (i.e., IP bar). I hear they are delicious. I guess I'll save the bars for Phase 2.

The program was written to include 1 restricted per day. Research shows people have the same weight loss with or without restricteds but are able to stay on the program longer and are more satisfied having one each day.
I have had one every day and am down 90 pounds so far.
About this IP forum. I stumbled upon it a little over a month OP. It answers all my questions. My coach is nice but her answers are constantly "I haven't heard that before." Not helpful!

I have a bar or some other restricted item every day. I've been doing this for about 7 weeks and have lost 28lbs.

Why do you feel that way?
The program is carefully thought out and they are part of the program. Only pay attention to the phase 1 protocol sheet as outlined and don't worry about anything else.

the only reason not to have the bars is if you are carb sensitive. Some people have a harder time staying in ketosis and they can not tolerate more that 25-30 grams of carbs a day. The bars would put them more in line to 30-50 carbs a day.
If you don't understand what ketosis is you should watch the IP coaching videos. There's a thread that is listed in the sticky posts at the top of the forum that has links to them all. Watch the one on ketosis, and the "Why am I hungry" video for further clarification.

The protocol is written to allow for 1 restricted item each day. Eat the bars and enjoy them. Most of us have. If you're extremely carb sensitive, you'll find out as you progress with the diet and perhaps you'll have to consider stopping the bars as a regular daily thing then... but until you get to that point (if you ever do) don't worry about it. I lost 60 lbs and most days I enjoyed an (alternative) bar.
I think it would be rare to be that carb sensitive. Enjoy your restricted.
As you lose visceral fat much of the metabolic syndrome side effects seem to resolve.
Lets see . . .
• that its a good idea to take before pictures
• that you can used the IP packets in recipes
• that I can divide my protein and use some of it earlier in the day
• that there is this forum and other information on the Internet
