zucchinni pasta maker

aloha,
Does anyone have a kitchen tool that makes zucchini(or any veggie) into pasta-like strands? Suzanne Sommers sold it for a while, but I am having trouble finding it. Never tried it but it looks incredible and perfect for IP! I have heard it makes it taste & look just like spagetti. I need this gadget. Also would like feedback if it is a good investment. Thanks.

Thanks so much! Has anyone used it and thinks it is a good tool to have?

I haven't used the tools mentioned so far, but I have made zucchini 'pasta' with a cheap (under $10) mandoline slicer I got at Target. I just use the julienne attachment - it's super easy! It's pretty tasty too with some olive oil, lemon juice, and basil! Yum!

Aloha,

Anyone have food dehydrator for making veggie chips with legal vegetables? I am on a mission to never be unsatisfied! Might check out my local thrift shop to see if they have one.??? Zucchinni chips , string beans, etc with lots of spices...yummy, I must find one!I think they are inexpensive.
I have always purchased veggie chips from whole foods, but why buy when I can make.

Aloha,
Well, I was shopping yesterday and found a lemo/lime zester gadget, that is like a peeler with 3 small holes. I though, hmmm, this may work to see if I like the "zucchinni pasta". Well ,it actually worked beautifully. And was so easy. I did 1 zucchini in a bowl. heated alittle olive oil and garlic, w red pepper. Threw in leftover steamed chix from chinese takeout, and the tossed in zucchini.I found savoy cabbage and shredded that in also, which really made it for me. Added alittle soy and it really tasted awesome! Just like chow mei fun! I was making yummy sounds!!

I know this thread is kind of dated -- but, I just got a Pampered Chef Julienne Peeler and tried it for the first time last night on zucchinni. It took a little getting used to -- but, it worked great! The peeler is also very sharp!!!I just tossed the zucchinni into the pan with cabbage and mushrooms and stir fried them with coconut oil and had it all on the side with a turkey burger. It was kind of fun -- you have to admit, you've got to get creative when on the IP plan.

I think I'll try the olive oil, lemon juice and basil for lunch today!

You can also do ribbons of cucumber and lightly saute them to use as a pasta. Toss with a bit of olive oil, dill, sea salt and pepper. I like the taste of the cucumber ribbons when I do a fish dish.
