okay so it's rather obvious that I haven't logged on all day because the last FOUR post's were mine! Anyway, I wanted to let y'all know about my valentines day because I told you yesterday I was a little worried. So, my sweet seven year old gave me a white chocolate covered rice crispy treat (yum!) shaped like a heart this morning. He then proceeded to tell me that it was for when I am done with my diet. How sweet is that people??? Anyway, I put it in the cupboard and didn't think twice about it. Yay! Then, my husband brings home two pieces of red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. COME ON!!!!!!!!!! He said that he brought home some valentines cake, he didn't know if I could have it or not, then he says, "but it's the thought that counts, right?" <don't worry, I didn't kill him!> He and the kids split the cake. He did bring me home two twenty oz. diet cokes though, he said that could be a special treat. I took it! My dr.'s said that I can have it in moderation as long as I drink double the water. So, I did it! Tomorrow I have my third weigh in. I am praying for good news, cause I need some from all of the resistance I had this week. Something I am dreading in the near future...all three of my kids will be having birthdays within two weeks of each other.... 2/28; 3/14 and 3/18. The thought of birthday cake is already making my mouth water!!!

Well done getting through V-Day Fluffy!!! I personally woulda killed my husband if he came home with something I really loved and said "I didn't know if you could have it or not"....you showed remarkable restraint!!
I personally didn't have to worry about V-Day as my husband works out of town and he wasn't home to sabotage me in any way, normally I would be sad that he was gone but this year it was for the best as I want to lose as much as possible before he comes home. (I started the diet the day before he left and he's going to be gone for 5 - 8 weeks).

Yeah, I got thru Valentines Day too...watching the Olympics helped...sewing helped...napping helped. It is just so hard sometimes.....
wow...there were a lot of posts to wade thru....I tried to make notes...but I know I am forgetting something.
HopefulTricia: Just remember that the IP oatmeal is restricted....altho I ate it every day. My coach wasn't as strict as others. As far as salad dressings....I posted my mom's and my motherinlaws salad dressings in the recipe section near the beginning of the section. I use those all the time.
Wagonomore: Yup, I get leg cramps...sometimes it is a lack of water....or a lack of potassium. If I get them in the middle of the night, I get up and take 2 potassium pills.
Skittlescda....I have IBS...and no, I have never taken the Cleanse. Never even heard of it....but I have had Cleanses before....and they just seem to mess up my IBs. I have struggled with constipation the whole time I have been on IP. Usually, nightly I take 2 Colace and/or Citrate of Magnesium. Tonight, I think I will have to take a laxative, cuz nothing is moving.....
BlueMermaid...wish I had never bought those stupid ketostix. I hadn't used them at all until 2 weeks ago. I barely register a trace. My nurse told me she never registered either...and she has lost 20#. I think if you aren't starving, or having high sugar cravings, that is good enough.....I have never heard that IP is bad for the liver and kidneys....(heard about it on Atkins....but we are not eating much fat here, gal).

My coach hasn't said anything about Truvia. I don't know anything about it. Should I be using it instead of Splenda?

Does anyone know if it is ok to add the little ice tea packets to our water? They are carb and caffeine free and are sweetened with Splenda.
I am wondering also if I should limit how much Splenda use in a day. Anyone know?

my coach just said that it's better than splenda, but if your at a restaurant and truvia isn't available to use splenda instead of the pink or white packet. Truvia is her sweetener of choice though. I like it bcse it doesn't taste "fake"

WOW! Jordanna! Your husband will be so surprised when he gets to see you again. The 20 lbs you have lost so far is terrific and given another couple weeks you may have 10 - 15 more. It will be really noticeable to him. I think when we look in the mirror every day, we don't seem to be able to see it as easily as someone that doesn't see you everyday. I bet he is excited to see you. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Torchlaker. That is encouraging! Them darn stix just make me crazy. I just don't understand why the scale is not moving much this week. I weigh tomorrow night and I am only down 1lb on my scale and because I weigh in the evening with my coach, I may not see a loss at all. Does TOM mess with anyone for 2 weeks?

Just wanted to say Happy Valentines Day (a day late) to everyone and great job resisting those sweets!! We went out for a nice dinner and I was able to have a small steak and a side of broccoli and stuck with my water even though I wanted a coke lol. And the desserts I brought home for my nephew....which looked REALLY good. Glad to see everyone doing so well.

I have to confess somewhere so here it goes!! Yesterday I had a bloody caesar drink and my son brought home chineese food as a Valentine's Dinner for the family, my husband, my daughter and myself enjoyed it with him. I ate deep fried chicken wings (OH WAY BAD) and sauteed vegetables. I didn't touch any of the chocolate or candy though (I'm not a sweet eater). I had a bar for breakfast and no other IP paks yesterday. So I've had my first set back in 3 weeks :-( I'll weigh myself today because my Wellness Centre is closed for "Family Day" holiday. I'm abit disappointed in myself but I'm NOT going to dwell on it....today's another day and I'll get right back on the horse lol. If I've still lost one or two pounds I'll be happy. I'm still very motivated and pleased with the IP plan. Actually yesterday I drove an hour away to purchase 28 packs and a shaker and started the day off with lots of water and a veggie omelette YUMMY !
"I BELIEVE" I can do this!! HaHa oooh dear I think I'm watching too much of the Olympics but I'm so proud to be a Canadian these days and that song is stuck in my head lol.

Not sure if anyone has a Sam's Club by them, but my Mom made a great find this weekend. They have the premade shakes, almost identical to IP, they are 3oz bigger and have 2g more protein and 20 cal more but she bought 24 for $27!!! That is a HUGE difference from the 6 for $27, if need be I will just let a little bit go to waste. Just wanted to pass this on to everyone, I am starting to feel the purse strings get tight with this diet. I am going to go to BJ's tonight and check there since that is closer to me, but those place's usually all have the same stuff. If not I guess I will be asking my Mom to pick some up for me, lol.

Mmmm chinese...that was my "last meal" before starting the diet. A favorite of ours, we usually had it twice a week. Definitely don't dwell on it, everybody cheats once in a while as long as you get right back on plan you should be fine at your weigh in.
