Wow Glory! I was reading along thinking "that's me" through the whole beginning of your post. I'm only about 8 weeks into my new lifestyle and already seeing positive changes but you've more than motivated me to stick with my plan for whole foods for the rest of my life. I'm going to keep refering back to your story anytime I get discouraged (or tempted by a bag of Hershey Kisses )! Since the beginning of your post was so "me" I can now truly see myself coming out with the same happy ending. Can't print a THANK YOU big enough!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I love the long journeys that are printed out in black and white for us. It proves that these successes are not overnight and they are not without their own set of challenges. But they ARE worth it.

Thanks again!

Wow! Great work. I love how you point out that it's a life long thing. It just makes sense that if you were to return to your old eating habits that got you overweight in the first place the pounds would come back. It has to be something you can maintain for the rest of your life. I've been inspired!

Thank you for sharing your weightlosss story. I found it very inspiring and enjoyed the pictures too. I think you were very nice looking even at your heavier weight but am so proud of you for changing your eating behavior and learning how to eat in a healthier way. Actually the eating plan you speak of is how I eat when I'm doing well. I do get off track now and then (past 4 days I have BAD). When I get off-track it is the sugary an salty snacks, but I feel so much better when I don't eat them. So I have to ask myself, why do I eat them?!! You have inspired me to get back on my healthy eating plan and stick with it.

I have to say, reading your story is a definite inspiration. It's amazing that you're able to maintain your weight so well--I think a permanent lifestyle change is something we all struggle to achieve (I am, but it's getting easier. )
Anyway, just wanted to say, thanks for your inspiration and posting your story--it is truly extraordinary!

Thank you for all of the advice! It is well worth looking further into the book and everything. All of your posts included such valuable, useful information. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you for sharing this inspirational story. I would really like to start eating superfoods, but unfortunately I'm a teacher (i.e., practically no disposable income - there's a reason most teachers are overweight), and I also teach at a boarding school, so part of my salary is the cafeteria food. Next year I'll be living a more normal life with a normal teaching job, and hopefully I can be healthier!

Glory-

First of all you should write a book about this. Seriously. Do you know what kind of valuable and awesome information this is? the BEST part, is that you are flesh and blood living proof that people who are so mentally addicted to food, can eventually become healthy an extremely happy. I read every single word of your post, and I am proud yet embarassed to say I printed out certain parts just to read them over again and keep them with me. your part about The Rules wa sjust erfect. It is EVERYTHING you need to pay attention to when losing weight.

I am so so happy I read this post. I have your rules condensed and paraphrased in a notebook of mine, along with clipping and recipes I find from all over. You have more than enough to be proud of, and I think your progress is astounding! Thank you so much for this. I hope you don't min me taking to your rules so much, but I think they are REALLy going to help.

You Rock!

Glory -

Thank you!!!! You've helped me realize that I am not alone.

1991 was my senior year in college....knowing that we are similar in age is a huge help. One of the excuses I've been holding on to is, "Now that I am over 35 it is harder to lose weight." I guess I can toss that one out now!

I love it that you were the "unfriendly food girl" in your office!

Super Foods sounds amazing. Thanks again. It probably feels great to know that your successful ability to share your story has helped so many people.

Glory 87:

Your story inspired me to join this group, I've been up and down for years, just recently started the You on a Diet 11 days ago *which also emphasizes eating lots of healthy foods). Of all the support groups out here this seems to be the best, thanks so much for your story.
