Default Started my weight loss journey 3 months ago. Need support

Hello fabulous people,
January 19th was rock bottom for me. I have been divorced for sometime, and lost my job in December of 2014. My finances had been gradually suffering, and so has my waistline. Furthermore, my 20 year old niece was diagnosed with cancer, also in December. A conglomeration of events, one might say, pushed me to make some decisions. I woke up on January 19th and decided to fix my health and my finances. I started out at 291lbs and I am now at 265, with small changes that I could get used to. I workout almost daily, either go for walks or to a rec center in my neighborhood; my daily calories are between 1200 and 1500 with cheat days being higher. My body is no longer responding to my efforts. I read that 24 hour fast days (eat breakfast, then only liquids until next day's breakfast) can yield results. I am going to try that next, maybe twice or thrice a week.
Anyway, I found this site this morning and I am so happy that I did. I just need support and encouragement, and I am more than happy and willing to return the favor. I also filed for bankruptcy recently and I am continuing to look for work. Good things to come? I hope so.
Happy Saturday, good people :-)

Welcome! What you mentioned sounds like intermittent fasting, so you may want to check out the IF thread:

Best of luck!

I'm sorry life is throwing this much at you at once. I hope it gets better, but I am proud of you on the principle that even with this, you've still made progress. You're brave.

I haven't personally tried intermittent fasting, but I hope it'll help you! If not, I'm sure you'll find the thing that will help you get back on track.

Thanks everyone. Your encouragement means a lot to me.
I was wondering how to ad the weight loss progress bar that I've seen in my some of the posts. I searched the site the best I could, but can't figure out how.
Thank you :-)
