Thank you soooooo much for your kind replies! I have been on a program called Slimgenics, formerly Slim4Life. I have done Weight Watchers several times in the past, but have absolutely committed to a healthy lifestyle for the duration. I got married in my mid 30s (dated my husband for 10 years before that!), then had 2 kids 21 months apart. I also am a working mom and travel quite a bit - I average 3-7 days a monh away from home (and miss my family like CRAZY for every second of it!).
I have started a 'before' file, but realized that I have absolutely no 'after' pictures. I'll get some taken & write up my highs & lows of weight loss. Like many of you here, I've struggled with my weight for the majority of my life.
A few NSVs I am particularly proud of:
1. I just bought several size 10 pants - this is a size I have never worn in my adult life. I was an 18W when I started this journey in December.
2. I lost over 36" over my entire body.
3. I jogged for 30 minutes without stopping last night (1.0 incline on the treadmill & 5.0 MPH, so definitely slow). Prior to April, I had NEVER run/jogged a full mile, let alone 2+ miles.
4. People I have known for years have walked right by me & not even known who I am.
5. I fit comfortably in the back seat of my van in beween 2 car seats!
6. I fit comfortably in coach seats on any airplane.
7. My children will now have photographs that include ME, not just them & everyone else because I don't want to see how big I am.
I will openly admit that I am petrified about maintenance. Not in an obsessive way, but just really worried that I won't be able to assimilate to a more normal eating pattern. Having said that, part of the plan that I am on includes 4 weeks of "rebalancing" your body (slowly upping the variety of healthy foods & amounts) + 12 weeks of maintenance support. So, I'm still part of a program through the summer (thank goodness).
Again, I thank you for celebrating with me. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!!!
