Goal Reached!!

Goal Reached! :D

I can't believe the success of so many people here way to go!
I'm 27 and have always been a bit on the heavy side, weighing my heaviest at 218lbs in July 2008. I tried every diet I could find but I would always lose my motivation and I'd end up losing the same 15lbs over and over and over again!

After trying South Beach, WW, a Cabbage Soup Diet, a Shake Diet and too many more to mention, I started The Eat-Clean Diet in July 2008 and I have to say, my motivation and willpower never wavered. I followed Tosca Reno's workout tips at the gym, carrying her books around religiously. I started working out 1-2 times a week and have built myself up to 4 workouts a week.
It never felt like a chore to eat and prepare the recipes she suggests, I always loved to cook but never knew how to separate the good foods from the bad. My biggest weakness is definitely my sweet tooth but I've learned not to ignore it and eventually let it break me, like it did so many times before, but to embrace it. I still bake things like bread pudding and chocolate mousse, and even though there are ingredients I never would have tried before (tofu, rice milk) I don't miss the old fatty, calorie-induced versions I used to make because I don't feel awful about myself after eating them.

So after 15 months of following this plan, I proud to say I'm still at the gym 4 days a week and cooking and preparing every meal clean (with no preservatives or additives) and I've lost 78lbs! I'm now at my goal weight of 140lbs.
I wore a bikini on the beach this summer, I hadn't done that since grade school and can't wait to do it again and look even better next summer!

I found what worked for me and am now hoping to maintain it! I hope you do too!

Woo hoo! Good for you! :)

Come on over to the Living Maintenance forum - we have a weekly chat, a meal accountability chat, lots of other discussions going on. It really helps me a lot to have an outlet to talk to people who understand what I'm talking about and don't look at me like I'm crazy when I say I still weigh my breakfast cereal portion! :)

Yes, I'm new to this forum but not to others.
I've been registered at eatcleandiet.com (also a free forum) and without it, I wouldn't have gotten to where I am now! The encouragement and support are amazing there as well!
