I too have tears in my eyes. I also will finally will make my goals for the first time in my life no matter how long it takes. I'm one of those turtles but I know I will eventually get there.

You're incredible. I'm so happy for you and I loved hearing all that. It makes me feel even more certain that not only can I lose weight, I can and will be a fitter and stronger person.

Getupandgo, I like your quote too! I chose mine because it really applies to what happened with my weight loss journey. It was absolutely NECESSARY to start walking and watching my calories. Then it was POSSIBLE to start running, even though I never would have thought I could do it. So suddenly I was doing the IMPOSSIBLE -- running miles at a time and actually becoming an athlete!

I just want to thank everyone for their kind words in reply to my post. It means so much to me that others can find inspiration in what I've experienced. Everyone can do this -- even if you think you can't, or you've tried a million times, or any other reason you think it won't work for you. It WILL work, as long as you commit to making the changes.

How cool is that story. I have just joined the forum today and it is so inspiring. I have about 50kgs to lose and I can so relate to where you have come from. That is where I am now.
