Good morning!

Alice, I think that 40 point thing will be good. I know that if I am aware of what I eat and make wise choices (like apples instead of potato chips for a snack) it is easy to stay within my point range (26-33) and I am very satisfied.

I blew it last night though, we had Chinese food and guests over for dinner. It was all vegetarian but I ate so much of it followed by a mountain of orange mousse. Yuck! When I think about it this morning. I think I have a food hangover.

It is a hoot about the puppy kindergarden isn't it?

Today is a lovely fall day I plan to go for a walk on some trails in the woods.

Ledom, how is it back at school? Are you busy?

Hi Shebacat? Is the kitty still on an IV?

I bought myself a long dark denim jumper in a size too small. (I look like a sausage in a denim skin). BUT, I have faith in myself and believe I will get to wear it one day. It is a pretty lightweight denim so I think it can be worn in any season. I also have a pair of pants that I bought last year to try to get into.

Hey there,

judi, yes I am really busy but so far I really like this semester. I have a better schedule and fewer students so I think it will be fine. It is good to be in a routine, in some ways I do better. I also have some fun things planned for every other weekend through the next 2 months (mostly pertaining to kayaking) so that makes life interesting.

judi, once again I wish you were near me so I could help you with your exercise. I know my first interest was motivated about 10 years ago by a friend who got me into hiking. It just feels so good and the thing is, you don't have to hurt yourself or be miserable doing it. I love FIRM videos, for some reason I feel challenged by them. They also have a great introductory video that is full of inspiration that you receive free if you call and ask for it when you order directly from the company. The basic hips, abs and thighs, is my favorite beginner video they put out. And you don't have to do every repetition at full throttle everytime. With the video I do now, every 2 weeks or so I add something that makes it just a little harder. That way I am always building strength. I was reading in the new SHAPE how exercise boosts confidence and self-esteem. I find that so true, if I know there is going to be some kind of social challenge during my day I make certain to exercise that morning. It just gives me a real boost, I guess it is the endorphins. OK, I'll get off my soapbox.

Food is another thing, I am struggling right now. I need to sit down and make a plan to get more vegetables and to stop taking little liberties with snacking, etc. i have taken the reminder about getting enough water to heart and have been working on that the last couple of days.

Well, fall is hinting a little, but temps. are still summerlike. A little tinge in the leaves and the light lets me know it is around the corner, as do the Cardinal flowers and other fall blooming flowers.

I won't be able to post 'til next Monday as posting from home is a thing of the past it seems. I probably could start a new thread though. Maybe I'll just add my post at the end of the diet this time. If not, I will be reading your posts and thinking about you this weekend. Have a good one.

Goodmorning ladies!

Ledom, yes, I wish you could help me with my exercise pogram. Yours sounds so good. It is a good thing too, I think that you are already planning something special to do every couple of weeks especially with your busy schedule.

Are the kitties still going out on their daily outings?

Today is a lovely fall day, very sunny. I am going to go to Vancouver and look for some transisitonal season clothes. Everything I have is either to warm or cool.

I bought the WW Veg. Cookbook. It looks quite good. Last night, I made the Greek Potatoes out of it. (It was made with potatoes, can of tomatoes, zuchinni but I left out the feta and upped the olive oil. It was good.)

How is walking Lacee going Alice? Or is it Lacee walking Alice?:)

Hi Shebacat? Hope to hear from you this weekend. Hope all is well with you and the kitty.

Hi ya'll!

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I'm doing fine, except that I'm extremely tired. I'm sure it's because I've been working too many hours during the week and on the weekends. I'm back to my normal schedule where I have Sundays off, but working every weekend for the past 5 weeks has taken it's toll on me. Oh to be young again.... My cat seems to be doing better also. I took her to the vet again on Tuesday, and she still could not find anything wrong with her...just elderly aches/pains I guess. She did give me more medication to give her. I just try to keep her quiet so she does not start choking.

Ledom, I'm sure you looked fabulous in you black dress! Kudos to you for keeping up your exercise program. I'm going to be walking in the AIDS walk in October, and (I'm still thinking about this) I might walk in the National Breast Cancer walk this April. It's between Dallas/Ft Worth and (here's the clincher) you have to walk 20 miles a day for 3 days, and you have to camp out in tents. That's the part I'm not too sure about. I like to take hot showers and sleep in my own bed!

Alice/Judi, it looks like ya'll are sending us a cold front this way. The high for tomorrow is only going to be 78! Yeah!!! Can't wait to open my windows for fresh air. Not to mention it will be great on the electric bill! Judi, the Greek potatoes sound wonderful....maybe you could post the recipe.

Well, guess I better get back to work. Talk to ya'll later.

About the Prevention Mill. Diet

Is anyone following it? I read it in my Prevention magazine and fits in with the way I eat--I am a vegetarian. I just don't limit my breads and therefore am toooooo heavy!!!
I tried to go to the Prevention website but couldn't find the diet on there. Anyone know how to find it? I mean, I know that I have the magazine here, I just don't know where (LOL). I have tons of magazines around here.
Sigh,I guess I will just have to dig.
Let me know if anyone is doing it. I would be glad to team up with someone and go at this thing one on one through daily email correspondance!

Good Monday Morning

Shebacat, good for you for planning to do those walks! That 3 day one with the nights in tents sounds like IRON man stuff.

Glad to hear the kitty is doing OK. What kind of medication is she on? Parasha hardly eats such little bits and is so skinny that it is painful. Poor geriatric pets.

Hi! Alexa!!! Welcome. I will let someone else answer your questions about a PMD. The PMD foods are what I eat but I have a hard time doing 6 little meals and drinking the water. (I like 3 meals and wine) I thought I was the ONLY heavy vegetarian in the world.

How is the 40 point count going Alice?

Goodmorning Ledom!
