I noticed at 20 lbs or so.. My belly had gotten smaller, plus, I could just feel I had lost weight...

My friends and I used to joke that we had 'reverse anorexia'. We would get all dressed up to go out...thinking we looked hot to trot...and then we'd see a picture of ourselves and think...how in the world did we think we looked so good! We're fat!
I've just hit the 30 pound mark and I finally think my stomach is looking a little smaller. Not much. But a little.
My youngest son, however, says he can't tell any difference at all. I don't know if that's good or bad!

Radio Girl--
as far as your son goes--it is good! Kids love their mom fat, thin, crazy, normal, it doesn't matter!!!

LOL - I was just thinking of Sherry's DH, my DH would run screaming from the room, he hates it when I ask him "do I look thinner, fatter, good in this outfit...etc"

Anyway, I weigh a LOT less than I did pregnant (76 lbs) and most of my pg weight was in the middle and I am just now finding those elastic pants too saggy to actually wear in public.

I'm all excited because you can see a tiny triangle of light between my thighs when I stand shoulder's width apart in my undies. Ooohh...skinny!

Boosmom-I HATE going to Eli's music class b/c it is in a dance studio and we are always sitting and doing floor activities on this hard concrete type floor and my taily bone hasn't got enough padding now!

The triangle? Oooooh, I am jealous. I have longed for the triangle my whole life! Even at my thinnest I did not have that!

emmysmom 04-21-2006 09:08 PM

You guys are so funny with "the triangle"...I think the last time my upper thighs didn't rub together was when I was in high school and weighed 120 something!

I always heard the myth of the three triangles/diamond shapes (or is is supposed to be 4?) when you stand with your ankles together, FINALLY after a lifelong journey- they DO exist!

Dairy Fairy 04-21-2006 09:39 PM

Deets, I'm just happy I have a triangle a shoulder's width apart. Before I lost weight, I had to do the splits to feel a breeze

Other things I have noticed: It is REALLY hard to find a 34DD bra at the store that also has mamma jamma straps and 3 hooks. They think a 34 band person must be so skinny they don't need lots of support, but lemme tell you that is the only thinnish part of me and after 11 mos of nursing I NEED IT!

My back problems have almost disappeared. I still have days, but they are so few and far between (versus daily). A good bra has helped, as does a good fit, but my knee and hip joints also feel much better. A 27 year old shouldn't have creaks!

I don't have dunlap on my elbows anymore (my upper arms are still too big but they don't leave a roll over my elbow now.

Looking at my hips really carefully, I have noticed they are just less doughy than they used to be. I still have plenty of extra padding, but if I stuck my finger down to my bone I don't think it would get lost now

OMG, I have TERRIBLE creaks with my knees, I dont know if its from years of overweight or what. When I do my lunges and squats it sounds like someone is crunching my bones, it doesnt hurt, just real noisy:o

I'm with you girl, even at 105 I had huge thighs (well at that weight they were very muscular) that never show the light triangle.

I don't have the triangle of light yet, but I did have a huge NSV this week. I had a itchy spot on my chest, and when I rubbed it, I noticed these lumps under my skin - I was pretty scared for a moment, until I realized they were my RIBS! I just sat and giggled!

You got me cracking up

Ribs? Who knew?! I'll bet you have a collar bone, too, huh?

I have creaks too! I'm 23. I'm pretty sure I have a bad knee. Sometimes it pops really loud and hurts like ****.

Well, saw DH today, and asked him if he thought it looked like I was losing any weight. He says he doesn't know. He sees me everyday. :(
So, I guess that when I reach my goal of 140, is he still not going to notice because he sees me everyday??!!
