Hello all! I'm new here, well I've been lurking for a while. But anyway, I've seen many threads where people have said that they've lost 40, 50 and even 90 pounds, but I've never really seen people with smaller milestones, like 10 pounds, or even 5! I'm new to the wight loss thing, so can anyone give me their stories on how they lost their FIRST TEN POUNDS and especially how long it took them. thanks
I lost my first 10 in 14 days, with strickt portion control and calorie counting...
did you exercise and during those first 14 days? if you did..how many days a week did you do them?
I am a virtual NON EXERCISER, thanks to a badleg.. I do try to do some stretching/floor exercises, but I am not good at doing them regularly... SO that is with virtually NO exercise....
I decided that my 140 pound goal was too daunting, so I kept that in my sig and added 10-pound goals. Someone on another thread with more to lose (forget if it was the 100 club, or 300+ club, or both) seems to break their goals down 10 pounds at a time. Sounds good to me!
I've theoretically lost 9 pounds in about 3 weeks, but I fluctuate on weight a lot, and suspect that's a bit optimistic. It depends on where you start, too, how heavy you are -- because the heavier you are, the more you can eat and still lose weight. I'm a calorie counter. I seem to be averaging about 1600 calories a day -- some days are 1200, some are 2000, my calories bounce around a lot depending on how hungry I am and what I choose to eat. I also do about 30 minutes of light exercise, 5 or so times a week.
My weight loss is weird, though. I went from 290 to 286 pounds in like 4 days. Then I weighed a week later and was at 284. But then I hovered between 283.5 and 284.5 for another week. Then the last 3 days I've lost a pound a day. Now, I know I should've been losing steadily through that time, not in fits and spurts. It just depends on what I eat, how much sodium, how much water, etc.
