New here and need your help.

Hello, everyone!

I'm new here and am hoping some of you have answers to my questions. I've lost a total of 20 lb through a combination of Weight Watchers (1st 6-7 lb), watching what I eat, and using The Ultimate New York Body Plan. I'm down to 151.4 (so surprised when I finally weighed myself after 2 months!) but stil have about 10 lb to go until I reach my goal weight. Not only that, it seems I'm losing motivation because the great results haven't extended to my tummy. It's still there. Now, my hips and thighs were my primary focus and with TUNYBP I'm happier with the way they look. However, I feel like his abs exercises aren't as intense as what I do for my lower body.

Can anyone recommend a (dare I say it?) quick-fix, short-term program to use on my belly? I say quick-fix because I finally realized what works for me. If I think I'm going to get results within a short period of time, I'm less likely to cheat or fall off the wagon. I think that's why TUNYBP's 2-week program worked for me. Even though I've been doing it for longer w/modifications. Has anyone used the Core Secrets program by Gunnar Peterson? I keep on seeing it on tv and it appears to be similar to TUNYBP but more intense.

Anyhoo, all suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you!

P.S.: Has anyone else used TUNYBP program? I highly recommend it.

Hi Cyana,

I wish I could give you some advice...mostly because YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE ME!!!! It's kinda spooky (check out my weight tracker below).

I hate the belly, I hate the belly, I hate the evil belly....

I'm with you 100% and hope someone gives you (and me :) ) some advice on this. My trainer has drummed it into my head that I can't "spot reduce" my belly -- she said this AGAIN to me yesterday when I threatened plastic surgery :D. But maybe...just maybe there's an answer out there.

Thanks for asking the question and welcome to 3FC...I'm new-ish, too. :)

Oh, my gosh!

LB, we have the same goal weight and size! Amazing! I made it to a size 10, well sort of. I'm stuck somewhere between a 10 and an uncomfortable 8 - still can't fit into my old 8 jeans. Oh, the humanity! :o

We should buddy up!
:p

I found a buddy!!

We SHOULD buddy up, Cyana! :) Yay!

Since I joined 3FC in July, I've just been randomly posting messages on threads that I find interesting, but I haven't really *met* anyone yet! :(

I think I've achieved a *real* size 10 at this point, which is where I thought I wanted to be when I started this whole thing. But now it seems that the elusive size 8 might just be possible, so I'm going for it! :strong:

BUT, I've hit a major motivational slump (something else we share), mostly due to the evil  belly. Like you, I'm pleased with my thighs and waist. My hips could use some work, but I can finally see my collar bone again, and I'm really psyched about my arms. And it seemed like I zoomed straight from a size 14 to a 12. Getting to a 10 was a bit harder, and now I feel stuck. I know that the lower you get, the slower your weight loss is -- but I can't help thinking that if the evil  belly wasn't there anymore, I could slide straight into an 8!

I also like that you said you hadn't weighed yourself in 2 months...I'm VERY anti-scale myself. I don't even own one -- my personal trainer forbids it ;) . So I weigh-in and measure with her about...yep, every 2 months!

I've never heard of The Ultimate NY Body Plan, but I have seen Gunnar Petersen's infommercial. I do a lot of work on the stability ball at the gym -- I think they're great -- so I think his program is probably pretty good.

I'd love to be your buddy! I'm gonna need help getting through these last 12 pounds, I know it. :^:

My name's Kate, by the way. From Massachusetts. :)
