Too Much Water???
Hi Everyone!!
Somebody told me that drinking more then 64 ounces of water ( 8, 8 ounce glasses) a day can be bad for you. They said it's almost has the same effects on your body as being drunk. Does anyone know anything about this?? |
I often drink more than 8 glasses of water a day...and I have never had a problem. :)

Yup - and it's called hyponatremia.

20 oz should be okay. 40 oz is getting into the danger zone. Depending on the person, the risk of hyponatremia presents itself around and intake of 2 liters within and hour or 3 liters within 2 hours.

Never had a problem
I have never had a problem with the amount of water that I drink. I drink anywhere from 100-160 oz of water a day. Usually I will drink about 32 oz at a time as I just drink from my water bottle and seem to be thirsty with working out and moving around with my 1 & 2 yr old.

The only time I have heard of water intoxication was in the case of the hazing of a fraternity pledge.
