Is anyone taking the pill called "Skinny Pill" or the supplements individually.
I am taking them individually. Let me know how it is going if you are?

I wonder...

...this wouldn't have anything to do with that Edita Kaye book "The Skinny Pill" would it?

And what are the pills ingredients? I'd be willing to bet that some of them are:

Ma Huang/Ephedra
Caffiene
CitriMax
Chitosan

the usual (not medically proven and some potentially dangerous) mix that is found in hundreds of formulas that are available all over the Internet, TV, etc.

I've heard many people say they're losing weight with these pills (probably has more to do with lowering their food intake and increasing their exercise more than any pill) but for some reason those people are only on the first weeks/month of using the product. How come we seldom hear from anyone who has achieved PERMANENT weight loss and credits it to a 'skinny pill'?

I can only speak for myself. I've been able to keep off over 100 pounds for 10+ years - not through the use of a 'skinny pill' but through good ol' permanent lifestyle changes...which is TRULY the only way to do it!

Just my two cents (as usual).

PS. In response to your earlier thread, I'm currently taking: L-Glutamine; Vitamin C; and a bit of Creatine and HMB (through a supplement called Betagen).

THe book says to eat a low fat high fiber diet ( which i think it good) and the supplements
they say to take are :

L- carnitine
chromuim
HCA- hydroxycitric acid
chitosan
synephrine.

I am not taking synephrine because the things i have read have said that they are not sure of this one.
BUt i think all of the other ones are safe. SO this is about eatting right and exercise .

Haven't actually seen the book...

...though I have heard of it (seems to be a regional thing to me - some diets seem to be more popular in different areas - maybe it's a cultural thing?)

A TERRIFIC site to check when considering taking dietary supplements is www.quackwatch.com, run by Stephen Barrett, M.D. who has been fighting medical and nutritional frauds and quackery for 30 years now.

Here's some interesting links from the Quackwatch site to check out:

http://www.quackwatch.com/01Quackery...ightindex.html - Weight Control: Products, Practices & Theories (includes links to articles on chromium picolinate and chitosan)

http://www.quackwatch.com/01Quackery...uppsherbs.html - "Dietary Supplements", Herbs, and Hormones (a brief article summarizing the DSHEA, and including numerous links to articles on various products, etc).

I admit, I'm a skeptic - take heart though - my mission is to pass on what I've learned through 30+ years of either dieting or reading about dieting (at absolutely no charge) and to urge all readers here to do a little TRUE research on these so-called "miracle" weight loss products before charging them to your Visa card! I provide myself as proof positive that the only true way to lose weight and keep it off PERMANENTLY is to eat right and exercise...and educate yourself.

Take care!
