Talking

Is there a certain way that I should distribute my calories? For instance, should I eat so many carbs, fruits, protein etc?

Here is my journal for the day.

Breakfast:
poptart
peanut butter w/apple
1 glass milk

Snack: Harvest Power bar

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Peppercorn beef
Side of Vegetables w/ I can't believe it's not butter spray

Snack: Banana & Jello cup

I'm not sure about dinner, I have a wake to go to tonight, so something very quick.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on my menu?

I question the poptart for breakfast...too much sugar and fat. A healthier choice would be whole wheat toast or English Muffin.

Have 2 servings of dairy products

You should strive to eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, at least one high in vitamin C.

Have 4-8 servings of breads, rice, grains, starchy vegetables and 4-6 of protein each day.

Don't go below 1200 calories or your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose weight.

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of plain water per day.

Default Poptart

QuilterInVA,

I know, I know a poptart isn't a good choice, but I like them and once in a while I know that I will want one, and I'm going to let myself have them. Another problem is that I am in such a rush in the morning, I don't have tons of time for breakfast. I'd love to hear some quick breakfast ideas. Thanks for your advice, I'm going to use your suggestions to try and balance my day out.

Nothing wrong with the occasional poptart. I though you were having them everyday.

I will boil up some eggs on the weekend so I can grab one on the mornings I am short on time. I take some melba toast and an orange and its breakfast I can eat as I run.

If I have a little more time, I like Fat Free Yogurt with a sliced banana and Kaski Go Lean or Grape-Nuts cereal.

Hope this helps.
