cant decide whats for the best
so the past week me an my man have had a rough time which has led to a bit of a gain.
Before that i was doing so well and in the zone. i feel like ive wasted time now and want to get back on track and get back to where i was ASAP and then more. Do i just get back on plan and keep going? or up my exercise to daily (currently Tues/Thurs/Sat) or do some form of fasting - 5:2/IE (miss breakfast) or Try South beach which "promises" 13lbs in 2 weeks or Something else? - open to suggestions. thanks |
Where does South Beach "promise" 13 pounds in 3 weeks? If you are very overweight and have not been dieting, it could happen but ...
That being said, it is a sensible and "easy" diet that is sustainable without any special purchases like shake mixes and other commercial things. Check out the stickies in our forum. |
they promise it in all the emails they send me...... i know its not likely to be that much for me but the lure is tempting

Rechyl, I bet there is tiny little print somewhere on that email stating "results not typical" or something to that effect. Like Ruthxxx stated, there is a measurable amount of weight lost for people that are beginning the diet after having too much processed foods - like white flour, white sugar, white rice and not consuming enough fresh whole foods like lean meat, low starch/carb vegetables and fruits. The first phase of South Beach is about 2 weeks of eliminating all these plus fruits while your body loses it's cravings for these type of things. If you can eliminate breads/grains, sugar, starchy vegetables, and fruits from your diet for 2 weeks on your own, you will probably see a nice drop. On South Beach after the first phase you slowly start adding back in healthy options for grains, veggies and fruits, usually a week at a time. I have been on this way of eating a few times, but this time, I will not go back to the unhealthy habits that caused me to re-gain like I did the past attempts. This attempt I only lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks, but I was still happy about that!

Get back on your plan and keep going. The way to lose weight and keep it off is to find a plan you can live with forever, not just a short time.

I see a lot of ads for various diet plans that say you can lose "up to XX lbs in 2 weeks" or some such claim. You have to be sure to read the "up to" part, because for some, it could only be a couple lbs. Others who have a lot of weight to lose could lose more.
