Face immediately gets fat after eating

  • 23 (female)

I've been cutting calories since March 2014.... I lost inches first and the weight itself went real slow. In the beginning I would jog every day and eat sort of clean...

But I had some relapse where I would eat lots of junk, carbs and just a poor meal pattern. I didn't drink enough water... although through it all I still stayed below my calorie budget.

However, September of 2015... I noticed that everytime I eat my face, shoulder blades, arms and neck would become puffy and fat... til the point I could grip skin and pull it. I'm talking right after eating... now I am obsessed with those areas and check every time I eat... and it does. Sometimes it goes away after a few hours or after some days. My whole body bloats during this... I just notice my face and upper areas get hit the worse.

I've been drinking more water and I've noticed that that has helped a lot with everything. But I still bloat and look so fat... I know it could be the carbs, and the sodium... but why do this occur right away???????

    Anyone have this experience?
  • You could be mildly allergic to something you are eating.

    Do you also feel unwell?

Is it bloating or actual swelling?

Does this happen every time you eat?

Is there something in your diet that you consume with each meal?
  • Sounds like you need to visit your doctor.

If I were you, I would log all the food that you eat in a day, noting how your body reacted after everything you ate.
  • How are your sodium levels in the foods you're eating? Does it happen with things that have little to no sodium?

I have an allergy (we don't know what it is yet) that causes me to have red, itchy hands after eating almost anything. It's so bizarre and very annoying!
  • That shouldn't be happening. Like others, I think you should see your doctor.
